At randomn seems to occur just after I post. Refreshing allows the forum to load

I see you've double posted a couple of times which is usually indicative of some sort of connection issue somewhere, I've rebooted the servers which should clear it with any luck.

Something still seems amiss, not sure if others are having this issue but once making a post it goes to saving post and then "hangs", unless you to a refresh/re-load and the post then shows.

cleared cache and forms and stuff (my browser default is to forget *everything* when I close it anyway)

It's a new quality control feature.

None today but the odd pause instead.

I've not noticed anything since we rebooted everything, but I've made a couple of small changes to the config which may have been causing the odd problem. Let me know if it keeps happening though.

The hanging (with the green thing with squares that I don't know the correct term for) keeps happening occasionally - on both posts and PMs.

Looks like the 3pm data came through with most of the UK radar network missing, it's fine on the 3:05 data though.

I get that too the three dots/squares in the bit at the top middle of the page when you post.

As above really, has this happened at all since 1200ish this afternoon?

It did around 3/4ish this afternoon, but only the once I can think off so may be more network related on that occasion.

Has it happened since i posted this pm?

Yes. I got the service unavailable thing a couple of times yesterday, and the hanging-with-the-green-thing intermittently this evening.

I can't see any more problems showing on the logs or anything currently, so I think any occasional slow loads may be more about people's local connections rather than anything server side.

Unlikely as it's a server generated error not a page time out. Other sites working properly more than one pc effected different internet providers.

No more errors or slow downs just pointing out it was server side generated message rather than a time out.

Even more interesting the errors only happened off peak when everybody would be in bed or just waking up meaning low load on the network.

Still trying to work out why netweather extra sometimes has a fit with vpn. Tonight was a funny one. Fired up the home page of netweather extra but didn't login. Connected to work via vpn while still logged into VPN I logged into netweather extra thinking I had logged off VPN of course no radar nothing would show. Logged off VPN and I could browse stuff again. I would have expected that behaviour if I was already logged in which I wasn't. Guess the homepage stores a cookie which the login uses rather than the login process using the ip address present during the actual login. Sometime of course it all works perfectly.

Well I'm not storing cookies so it's got to be a hiccup with the session. This really confirms my comments that if I open another web browser I still can't view anything with netweather extra until I close the vpn connection. Logging off and on doesn't fix it either which it should.

I can't say I've ever been able to recreate the issue you've described to be honest, it may just be something unique to your vpn or the setup you have on your browser, so it's very difficult to diagnose it on that basis.

Different pc's as well. Only website that acts up this way.  Interestingly just now been logged in had to login to work via vpn which stopped the radar refreshing which is expected however I wasn't logged out. Disconnecting the VPN and the connection to netweather extra returned to normal.
