Have you turned your heating on yet ?

I can't believe how much colder the nights have become

 

Maybe due to having so many warm nights in the last few weeks it feels worse then it is I'm tempted

Heating on? I still have the windows wide open with the curtains drawn at night, gorgeous temperature to sleep in now. I doubt I'll need the heating on for many days yet.

I put a fleece in the breeze on for the short walk back this evening I would admit, soon worked up a sweat and back to a t-shirt now

NO! It's only August and it's still in the mid teens at night. Still have the door open during the day and windows open at night in the bedroom!

 

It doesn't normally go on until November-ish in this house.

No chance...still have a fan on at night as I have a well insulated house and it gets too warm. didn't have the heating on all last Winter and it won't be on this Autumn/Winter until it gets significantly colder.

Max here yesterday was 13C. Today was 14C. Back door open regularly for the dog and cat. The heating has been on!

 

Conversely at work the window was open and the desk fan was on followed later by the aircon when it still got too warm.

Not a chance of heating going on until at least November, put a jumper on, if I'm still cold I put a thin fleece shirt over the top while I'm working from home.

I have fleece coats (about eight now, work keep giving me them for free W00T!)  round the house and fleece throws on the sofas and to hand in the bedroom, and only tried the heater in the bedroom once, never again.  Do not get me wrong, whilst I moan of the heat and humidity I will miss it when it is cold and horrid out (and cold in no doubt).

Our heating is set to kick in automatically when the temperature drops below about 20C indoors - even in our draughty Victorian terrace this doesn't usually happen until well into October.

Our heating is set to kick in automatically when the temperature drops below about 20C indoors - even in our draughty Victorian terrace this doesn't usually happen until well into October.

It is registering 18 deg in the house now,fine for me but my other half is talking heating already...ha...we have not long moved and have no central heating and the gas fire needs looking at...she will have to reach for a coat!!!

Yes Stew, I mostly burn Logs on mine but as you say they do take some keeping cleaning. Would't want it any different though, I find it very relaxing.

Oh my gawd, what are you doing to the planet using all that energy - I can think of better ways.

Central heating still orf but for the last hour or so did feel a little chilly so put on the air to air heat pump and that was ok.

It's the 13th of August and folk are on about having the heating on. This is some kind of a wind-up,right? I've been working outside in a t-shirt half the night and it's boiling... while folk indoors are saying it's chilly. In fact it's too absurd to think about. Come back sometime in December and maybe we'll talk.
