3.9C here now, those showers smashed that temperature on the head and it's gone down by 2C in the past hour, this is what we want!

I think we'd be lucky to see snow and even luckier for to have lying snow.

The met office have issued a warning for a reason, IT IS NOT

A 100% guarantee that it will happen, I have not seen snow here

For over a year plus, so we should welcome this warning with

Open arms, especially after last year's fiasco, no there wont

Be a huge dump, but I will be more than happy to see it

Fallings, even if it does not settle, I have just read some posts

on another forum and comments like"well if a bit of slush on

your windscreen floats your boat"pathetic and in reality probably

jelous nothing forecast in there back yard

Just had the most potent hail shower so far here, lasted a good few minutes and left a slushy white covering - temps still too high for it to stay too long on the ground but it was nice while it lasted.  Not sure what to expect overnight but maybe what's starts as wet sleet could give a wintry cheerio as colder air digs in behind the weather system.  It will be a cold Saturday, before another milder blip on Sunday.  It's yo-yo weather at the moment.

Ah it's almost 6C now, this is just too high, unsure of snow prospects for tonight now, if it was 2/3C, I'd be excited..

Why? Because the Temperature won't fall overnight

Under cloudy skies and a strong westerly airflow with above average SST's after the warmest year on record, with positive uppers and a warm front approaching from the south west with an associated mild sector? Yeah you keep laughing my friend.

With Cold uppers coming from the north an under cutting the front I will Keep Laughing...... But i will also keep laughing at your your assumption that the Temp now will effect the chances of snow in 12 hours time

You mean the uppers which won't undercut until after 3am, the same uppers which will be no lower than minus 4/5

Also, just in case you haven't noticed, a secondary area of PPN associated with tonight's front is spinning our way right now over Ireland, it'll be here in around 3 hours. It isn't particularly heavy, meaning there will be minimal evaporative cooling, aided in with the strong winds, you're left with a stagnant temperature which becomes stubborn to move until after around 3am when the modestly COOL uppers undercut what's left of a dying front. Still feeling confident?

Backtrack is correct I'm afraid, unless you're over 300m snow chance zilch

whilst you are welcome to your opinion, i dont agree, it is still

very uncertain on the exact track of the low, met office have

already said only 15mins ago it could track further north or even

furher south, your location could even be in for some action

The Temperature now will not effect the chances of snow later.............. That's all I said, not sure why you are trying to convince me it won't snow later because I haven't said it will or it won't.......
