Well it seems the MCS Screwed us and a lot of others over last night, Roger Hill and his tour were opposite us and have seen quite a few other teams down here just for a fix of Lightning.......zzzzzz Ma Nature you are trolling hard this year.

Today see's us with a decent enough Texas Risk before the long boring journey north tomorrow but the goodies at the end should be plentiful come Friday

Sitting in the MCS (Mucky Crappy Stuff) in Fredericksburg. A few decent CGs but nothing else.
16Z HRRR has more discrete cells forming West of this area from 21Z (OFB, maybe forward edge of DL, but still in 65C dps) with shear enough to turn them in the lower levels (the RAP hodo has decent directional shear up to H400) so in a while I'll probably ditch Austin for San Angelo with cutting my mileage down for tomorrow for the trip North also on my mind.

Good luck down there today Neil, it looks very nice according to the latest HRRR, Some Beast Supercells, playing the Caprock today to soften the blow of the expected 750 mile drive tomorrow. Go bag a Texas Nado!

On route NW through Brady for San Angelo. Passed through a distinct OFB just now (rolling low cloud/fog) and now in clearer air. Can see the rear cirrus boundary to my West (I am not driving by the way whilst typing - that would be tricky LOL). Just picked up McCrapolds and now moving again.
I see HRRR still has cells firing Big Spring to Ozona in next three hours. Hoping to bag some structure at least to rescue the last few days.

It's easy to forget how vast Texas is! I just looked up the distance from Midland Tx to North Platte NE - 712miles. That is a long drive, so no surprise to see you want to knock some miles off today!

It seems to be taking an age to get to you. Perhaps one of the guests want to take on the 'take the hail challenge'?

The stream is cutting in and out, good to see they are on the tornado warned storm south-west of Abilene, even if it did involve a drive south.

Great streaming in Tuscola, guess you aren't planning on getting cored there as you seem to be out in the clear air now :-)

You can see why there has been so much flooding with these storms, when it rains, it really rains!
