Well, it depends. You need the right sort of vehicle (typically tornado-proof) and constant in-travel access to the best Doppler radars.

Here is my ride: http://tainy.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/MG_7327srgb1.jpg

http://www.strangetravel.com/images/content/153114.jpg - As you can see, sometimes I prefer a bit of off-roading.

Lol absolutely love your ride I'll have to keep an eye out for you when your out cruising in the storms. Maybe I could pimp my focus with some equipment least look the part lol

I think it has a S/West target area to be honest.

Possibly one of the best storm systems for 50 years, not an MCS but multiple multi cellular storms.

Might be me, but just look how the decent stuff already looks like its doing its usual right turn. Estofex look to be bang on with this. This in my eyes is a kent clipper at best I'm afraid!

Decided to take a cool (ish) shower. Proper warm in this house.

See the strikes over the Bay of Biscay still. Think I'll hit the sack and get up in perhaps 6 hours to check on the radar.

I have to agree, its going to be a kent clipper at the most.

And one last thing, this is a screenshot from apparently 5.06.2015, just last month.

And funnily enough, I bet you the radar looks like this at some point tomorrow. Yep, money is on a Kent clipper, yet again.

Have you got any footage of that storm Supa, because it was the most memorable storm i have ever witnessed,i was parked on woodhead pass and what a display it was,i was well f@@ked off when my cam died on me,so i was totally gutted not to get any footage, best storm ever and i didn't capture it :wallbash:

also,i had that feeling you would be chasing that one,how far did you go.

I sped down the A50 towards Stoke and saw my first flash and could see that the storms were heading up the M6 and so I did the same. I then drove along the M62 through Manchester and stopped off at a few points to witness the constant flickering and IC bolts.

I have a lot of footage but it needs editing and putting together as a movie. I will hopefully get to do that tomorrow but haven't even edited my Slovenian storm footage yet :)..... although tonight's storm was far better (and I didn't expect to be saying that as the Slovenian one was impressive).

take care all,it's been a warm one.

That stuff in France is either going to make its way into Cornwall or its going to blast eastand become a Kent Clipper, landfall at maybe Southampton to Brighton and exiting just south of South End at most.

Anyone seen the Estofex extended forecast? Looks pretty severe for Northern France.

Extended Forecast
Valid: Fri 03 Jul 2015 06:00 to Sat 04 Jul 2015 06:00 UTC
Issued: Wed 01 Jul 2015 23:10
Forecaster: GROENEMEIJER

A level 2 was issued for NW France and W Belgium

This extended forecast is issued to highlight an elevated potential of severe weather over NW France and W Belgium on Friday evening. There is a risk of strong tornadoes and very large hail.

Other areas are not discussed.

DISCUSSION

An eastward progression on Thursday of the warmest lower tropospheric air and the moist convergence zone on its western fringe across the Benelux and France is followed by a westward advection of low-level moisture on Friday.

This advection in concert with surface pressure falls over the Bay of Biscay in association with the northward advection of extremely warm air over France and an approaching mid-level trough over the eastern North Atlantic ocean. Within the noist air-mass, CAPE may rise over 2000 J/kg per GFS and around 1000 J/kg per ECMWF.

Near a warm frontal zone over the Channel, high amounts of storm-relative helicity (~400 m2/s2) and high low-level shear (10-15 m/s) are forecast. NWP guidance hints that, during a time window in the evening, substantial surface-based CAPE and the strong low-level shear may overlap.

There is some uncertainty about the question if storms will develop in this region and somewhat dry forecast profile. GFS shows the strongest precipitation signals.

Any storms developing in that shear environment have a high probability of turning into supercells with a risk of very large hail and of (strong) tornadoes.
