It's all gone a wee bit quiet from the northern contingent :pardon:

Ali is off the Christmas card list, wanting the low to track north now he's not in the country :nonono: Traitor lol

Would you say the 12z is an upgrade or downgrade?

I would say upgrade because the UKMO has corrected south, but the GFS has pretty much stayed as it was this morning.

I am convinced this will correct further south, been saying it for days. I do not think the UKMO or ECM are handling it well at all, especially upstream.

If I'm wrong i wont cry, but I don't like to get splinters.

Haha cheers mate.

To be honest, if I see 2cm of snow on Friday I don't care what happens Sunday. Standards have lowered massively over the years... I just want to see some proper snow even if it's light. I think I'd rather have rain than marginal slushy mess.

Completely agree 100%. For me just to be able to look out of the window with my kids whilst they are still young, maybe build a little snowman, create some memories, will do me.

The 12z GFS Op, taken at face value, would have the snow line roughly Brecon Beacons - Cotswolds northwards.  Any lower level snowfall (this bit I am sceptical about, regardless of locality) would be roughly South Midlands - West Midlands/Welsh Borders.

All academic, I know, just giving a broad view of the run for Sunday for those that care.

Of more interest to me at the moment is the prospect of a wider, more frequent flow of snow showers affecting many areas of our region on Friday, as per the Met Office forecast.  I maintain the fact I think many of us could see falling snow on Friday at least.

Wooooaaaaahhh winter 2017!!!!!

Yes, the wind has certainly picked up now. Gusting to 28mph at the moment, and 10.4°C

Same temperature here but not as windy although I’ve noticed it’s started picking up a bit.

Will it snow in Cardiff? I'll get my sledge out if it does but it needs dusting.

Haha Jay! Great to have you back (I know you were on earlier)

My sledge and snow shovel are buried at the back of the garage. I have learned if I so much as look at them, it’s game over for us all!!

Has anyone seen the METO weather forecast on their site? Lots of snow showers on Friday.

Yeah buddy. I embedded the video in here a few pages back. Also backed up by the chart AWD posted.

Looking good so far :cold:

Could that pink area move just a tiny bit further south and west? :clapping:

So when is the snow likely to start, early hours Friday? I was going to go into town but might change my mind if its snowing not getting stuck in the car.

I highly doubt Cardiff City Centre is going to become a winter wonderland anytime soon.
