Sleet at first this morning turned to a spell of heavy, wet snow between 1030 and about midday, followed by light snow into the early afternoon. 3.5cm of lying snow at 1300 but there was a slow thaw during the afternoon before the snow froze after sunset. The temp' fell to 0.1c during the snow but rose a couple of degrees once it had stopped.
