My fantasy winter will start off on the 15 October to 30 November with moderate to hard frosts that last the whole day and night. Then from the 1st December heavy snow showers that start from late morning that lasts for at least 14 hours or more.  The heaviest snow showers last for 28 hours and will only a 4 hour break between each heavy snow shower and the last heavy snow shower will be on 31st January.  I do not know enough about weather models to write about it.  There will have have to been a SSW in the right place in Early October with no solar activity for several weeks.

To witness a situation in which rain leapfrogs over snow, and somehow gets here first...Oh dear! :help:

I haven't got a 'best' winter I only hope for a few snow showers during Christmas eve evening and maybe one or two on the day itself, so this year when i had falling snow twice while the decorations were up were a close second.

Today's snow was a bonus, but I can give or take it now, since frozen melted snow is the work of the devil, and I don't enjoy sliding along the path on the school run.

Bright and sunny every morning day, with light winds, after an overnight min of -10c.   Max temp of +6c, just prior to a 3 hour thunderstorm, clearing to a spectacular sunset.

Overnight snowfall once a week.

And that's also my fantasy spring, summer and autumn :D

Think I might need to move to another planet!

This country wouldn`t cope with a hurricane 90 to 120mph east winds would uproot most trees in the country not use to the opposite of a westerly.

Then 200 to 250 mph westerly would flatten London lol.

My fantasy winter pattern would start with a cold, dry and sunny October with the following November and December following suit, but with some snowy northerlies/easterlies. Christmas Day would be bitterly cold with sub-zero maxima, but beautiful clear blue skies with a deep sparkling cover of snow. Then January would be a bitterly cold and exceptionally snowy month, but with some drier, sunnier weather at times. February would be cold/very cold with further snow but towards the middle/end of the month there would be a sunny and mild period with temperatures nudging into the 10-12degC region for the first time, giving a little taste of spring before a mixed March like 1995, with a bit of everything. Snow, warmth, wet & windy etc.
