Hope that stuff to the west goes North of here as that has 'flash floods' written all over it.

I know, Cowdog. I used to live in the Aire Valley and saw the devastation before some of the flood defenses were installed. They're not perfect and maybe nothing can withstand the likes of this. We'll see. Bon courage mon ami!

It hit us and by looks its expanding. Rainfall was worse than the Squall last week, but its been the only flood level rain we had today. Thought areas to the south might miss it, but now looks possible it will hit them.

10 minutes of typhoon level rain and that looks like its it until after midnight apart from the odd shower. The models so far have really not got the handle on this at all.

Rainfall really getting going now. Looks like a few squal lines setting up aswell. This isn’t looking good again unfortunately.

Anyone to my SE you've got a real treat of a squall on its way! (not as good as that forming in the N.E. which is now throwing lightning into the mix?)

Very intense squall just passed through, wow. Looked like a hurricane, even the cars had to slow down!

Was driving as the squall hit York. Very intense and dangerous! Hurricane-esque

Same here, it was brilliant!

The Sheffield Shield scythed through that squall. Nothing of note here with spells of rain coming and going. The wind no stronger than it was earlier. Impressive reports further north though!

A mass of rain to the south-west again; looks like a very wet night to come.

Squall line died before it got here, usual breakup!

Looks like the frontal wave has formed and it's on its way from the SW

Not liking the look of what is heading up from the southwest think this is gonna cause some serious flooding issues in areas that don’t need it. Could be carnage tomorrow morning unfortunately. Stay safe everyone.

Yes very powerful, I’d say much more than last weeks storm. I found myself wincing as I went past lamp posts hoping they wouldn’t blow over onto the car. Also very intense rain, of which I haven’t seen for quite some time

I might live over yonder but I'm still an adopted Yorkshire lass. I'm really worried for all of you. I know my OH is safe but also know he will be awake all night listening out. Stay safe my friends. I'll be back in the morning...

Well guys I know when you put roots down it's hard to remove them completely?

You may no longer be in Yorkshire but Yorkshire is still in you!"

feb 1991 blizzard, I feel your pain, truly I do!

Let's hope most of it rains itself out before it gets here?
