The light rain throughout yesterday became heavy at times later yesterday evening as the area of rain which had sat to the west all day eventually moved east. The rain cleared during the early hours and by dawn it was almost cloudless. A sunny start to this morning but cloud has increased since 0700 g.m.t and the sunshine is now reduced to sunny intervals. Much less windy than yesterday.
