Two heavy rain events '93 and '95

I'm just trying to pinpoint the dates of two extreme weather events from the mid-90s, having vague memories of both. On both occasions I was in the Stafford/Market Drayton area. I can vaguely recall the first event being a severe rain and thunderstorm and I have a feeling it was either Sunday 6th or Monday 7th June 1993 - can anyone remember or confirm an event like this happening around this time in the Midlands? The second event is more clear in my mind, it was a flash flood one October evening in 1995 and I seem to remember it was quite a wild rainstorm and it being early in the evening. The thing I remember most was the flooding! I have a feeling it was the evening of Tuesday 24th October 1995, but can't be sure. Again can anyone confirm this please? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Remember those storms of 1993, they were later in the week, Wednesday/Thursday. Parts of Wales got a lot of rain

I remember the 1995 event as well. It was a blowy day but very mild and I can remember the leaves being blown about. I think there were two squall lines with a drier short interval between the two,at least up here there was that evening. There was even thunder

cannot remember, but heavy rain and Stafford go together so often, rain gets boring here and not memorable

1993 Mostly fine and dry, but there were some very violent thunderstorms and heavy rain midmonth (9-16th). A thunderstorm gave 125 mm of rain at Culdrose (Cornwall); 92 mm in two hours early on the 9th. Flooding in Helston. Hailstone damage to glass In Northants. 175mm on the 10th at Llandudno, 140mm of it in 4 hours; flooding over the area and in Conwy. 121 mm in 2.5 hours at North Weald, with much flooding. 92mm in three hours at Epping. There was more very heavy rain over Wales and the southwest on the 11th and 12th, with strong wind and low temperatures; 130 mm on Davistow Moor (N Cornwall) in 24 hours. The month was very dull in Scotland.
