Oh well, my 30% chance now looks very optimistic maybe 3% would've been more accurate.

The longer term outlook still looks very good though so always hopeful.

Maybe Everton will win the league instead.

Having a really good fall of snow at the moment, Macclesfield has disappeared beneath the yellow echoes on the radar, my view of the road and hills out to Buxton has been totally blotted out by snowfall, wow tis coming down mighty thick up there.  Wonder if colleagues from Whaley Bridge made it into work today.

Heavy snow continuing 2-3cm now. V happy as thought this would only be a dusting for us Cheshire folk.

Mixture of snow rain and ice pellets now. Stupid inversion. 0.5°C.

Well it looks like Crewe is finally getting some... Mum just sent me this pic.

How long it will last? The yellow echoes are very close so hoping they get a heavier bit at least, would be great for the kids to see a decent snow 'fall'.image.thumb.png.aef4985f07be3b417469739b7d0a20c8.png

Looks like the heaviest bit isn't even there yet. Fingers crossed for you all down there.

Nothing in Keswick apart from a few drops of sleet!

Easing off now. I'd say we've had about 4 inches or thereabouts. 2nd snow cover of the Winter. Not bad going considering we're not even out of December yet. Hopefully more to come....looks that way.

Stopped now, had 3cm in the end and now melting, I'm happy with that, I would class that as a snow event for me, more chances to come too

Yup. In some winters and event like the past day (or few days imby) would be the snow event of the winter yet if some of the current model runs verify, this could be an afterthought. Madness.

Looks like heavier precipitation was the key today to help keep things cooler aloft and maintain snow. Had 45 mins of good snow but around 7.30 it got lighter and the rain took over. 200m asl sometimes doesn't help when relying on the air hundreds of metres above to play game. Any idea when the next round is?

Weird how there are reports of rain higher up but snow all the way in some places <100m in elevation. Just goes to show how complex the mechanisms behind snowfall are! Still snowing heavily here.

We’ve definitely been very lucky this morning even Crewe and Nantwich are seeing a decent covering. Stoke probably has had a good covering too.  Talk about rubbish luck that you were away though.

Yes we are! Snowing here in Crewe since 8am and steady at the moment rather than heavy. Regards to your mum. Trying to place where she lives but not succeeded so far.

Hahah.  You literally couldn't make it up.  The best snowfall in Halmer End for many years and they both happen the two days I'm away!! But don't regret it, stunning up here.

...this was yesterday. Cloudy this morning with spits of sleet.  Heading back tomorrow and reckon there will be plenty left where I live now so will get my fix. haha.

Excited to see what the yellow echoes bring you all. Fingers crossed it's snow.

You're not her type sorry! . Clue, it's near the retail park...but please don't egg her house.

Still a long way to go, am sure your chances will increase.... as to football, sorry can’t comment, the ONLY football game I have ever watched was in the film Escape to Victory, don’t even know the rules - we are all rugby and F1 with my family. Good luck with your football wish regardless.

3cm here in the garden with obvious effects now on the road, especially the higher routes, with AA roadwatch a-wash with orange and reds all across the Peak District. The gritters have been out this morning I can confirm whilst popping down to the shop for a quick weekly shop before the crowds had the same idea with this cold-spell now upon us.
