The Perseids meteor shower is at a peak this coming week.....11,12 and 13th of August, local cloud permitting

Eyes and cameras to the ENE  in the wee hours....you can use Capella the brightest star in the Northern skies as a guide to where to view the Perseids meteors....which are roughly twice the altitude of Capella in the sky

Last Friday I saw three meteors, one was a Perseid.

Not really clear skies forecast for the peak of the shower, maybe some clear spells though. Last year I saw distant lightning over the channel and Perseids.

Took these in a park a couple of miles from town.

Really hoping for some clearer spells tonight / morning.... Could do with running a test time-lapse and get some settings worked out for the next couple of days

Saw the clouds light up earlier to my south east about 11pm ish, Likely a Perseid fireball, I've seen four dim Perseids tonight. Cloud has won so time to go home.

Skies cleared enough here to see a few between 1.45 and 2.35am.  View limited due to looking up from my garden mainly to the east, but they were bright and clear.  Hoping for a break in the clouds again tonight/pre-dawn.

Mainly clearer skies overhead for last night/ morning Perseids peak(?)

Managed to catch a few

I`m really impressed with the light pollution filter and would highly recommend one of these for extra clarity to the night skies

It`s a K&F Concept 77mm Natural Night Light Pollution Reduction MC Nano Layer Filter..... you just need to get the white balance right
