Fog lifted to low cloud overnight. Staying cloudy with a little light rain and drizzle at times. Overcast this morning damp underfoot. Cloudy throughout.

Classic anticyclonic  inversion weather. The fog which persisted all day yesterday thinned from the top down yesterday evening and just as the sky became visible the temperature fell to 0.5c. As the fog receded further into the valleys the temperature rose steadily to reach a max' of 7.8c during the early hours of this morning. A sunny start to the day with the valleys filled with fog. The remnants of a ground frost still visible here but just 50 mts lower the grass is thick with white frost.

A sunny start to the morning but the fog in the valleys gradually crept up the hillsides and from 1000 until 1115 it was simultaneously sunny and foggy. From 1115 a bank of low cloud and fog moved in from the north east and the rest of the day was chilly with thick fog.

Overcast, murky and cold with fog only lifting slowly. Maximum 5.4, minimum 3.1. Wind light NE.

Yesterday: dry and overcast. Maximum 8.6, minimum 7.4. Wind light NE.
