Classic anticyclonic  inversion weather. The fog which persisted all day yesterday thinned from the top down yesterday evening and just as the sky became visible the temperature fell to 0.5c. As the fog receded further into the valleys the temperature rose steadily to reach a max' of 7.8c during the early hours of this morning. A sunny start to the day with the valleys filled with fog. The remnants of a ground frost still visible here but just 50 mts lower the grass is thick with white frost.
