    The BBC have said recently that hurricanes ,Typhoons and Cyclones will effect more on the planet........! Let's look at the data and history. ...The graph with the squiggly lines shows all the tropical storms in recorded history.  Notice that the equator does not get hurricanes etc as there is no Corriolis effect...Notice Tokyo and the rest of Japan have had Typhoons for donkeys years....except last year and two other years in this run..What hits home is the fact that Northeast USA  had hurricanes worse than they have for over a century. ....
