A brief shower yesterday evening around 1920 followed by a warm dry and mainly cloudy night with extensive high and medium level cloud associated with a large area of showers and thunderstorms to the west of here. The cloud broke and moved away by dawn and the morning so far has been dry and very warm with sunny periods.

Hot with sunny spells towers now going up. Trying to think the last time we had a storm from the east and that will be 1976 It's that rare.  Thats if we get one that is.

A hot day with sunny periods. Cloud developed rapidly during the late afternoon and the first thunder was heard to the south east at 1620 g.m.t. We eventually ended up with a storm bringing heavy rain and squally winds for about 20 minutes between 1655 and 1715 g.m.t. This was followed by a dry spell but in the last 10 minutes there's been another spell of fairly heavy rain with a well defined clearance moving in from the east.
