Been keeping a very close eye on this beauty, but really rather happy that it now looks like we will miss the worst of it.

You will, but its tracks as an ex-tropical storm have it getting close to the UK. This morning's advisory has it getting to near Iceland/UK by the Weekend.

Fortunately (or unfortunately in this case), the 'we' refers to me living in Bermuda. Now on a Tropical Storm Warning but still likely to miss the worst.

Keep a track on Idalia, that's expected to stay at Tropical Storm strength when it gets back in to the Atlantic as currently it's not expected to cross much of mainland US; current path has that one around Bermuda this weekend Seems the weather gods are determined to bring you storms this year.
