The last few days of February 1924 ended on a wintry note but a particularly potent wintry blast hit the UK on Leap Day of 1924 giving heavy snowfalls

 

A minimum of -16.7°C was recorded at Balmoral on the morning of the 3rd March

Manchester 2nd March: Mainly overcast; heavy snow during night and morning. Max: 40°F Min: 30°F

Belper Max, Min °F

1st March: 39.0, 28.0

2nd March: 36.4, 26.0

3rd March: 40.0, 26.2

Tunbridge Wells

1st March: 43, 34

2nd March: 45, 31

3rd March: 43, 31

How good and comprehensive are those newspaper reports compared to the inaccurate posts today on many media streams.
