This has been one of the WORST Winters I can remember for flooding and sunless skies! Barely any blue skies 😞

Both yesterday and today, I've felt warm enough to walk to the shops without a coat or jacket. I don't recall having done this so early in the year before.

moogyboobles You've had better weather in Essex, down in the bottom corner of Kent it's been very drab! Today was cold under that murk and rain

So I was driving along the A27 this morning. I had got into the car at around 07:30 in drizzle. It was still drizzling and actually getting heavier as I approached Lewes with Radio 4 burbling at 07:57; Tomasz Schafernaker with the weather. He gaily announced it was a lovely fine morning, and specifically namechecked the south coast as dry. I looked around. I looked at the satnav. I confirmed I was within 2 miles of the south coast. I realised Meteo had now hit rock bottom; they couldn't even nowcast the weather correctly!

Neilsouth I thought she was talking about next weekend when she was worried about snow, but it was today and tomorrow,  don't think there was ever a chance of snow, don't know what she saw where, but I hope she realises they are a nonsense,  and doesn't watch it again.

Dreadful morning. Our Region is somewhere underneath that lot on the radar at 07.05 this morning. The three triangles show where Hastings (South coast), Hadleigh (Suffolk) and Sea Palling (Norfolk coast) are located. Some of this morning's hi-res models have upped the rainfall amounts before this lot clears later today to around 25 mm (an inch). No sign of a decent dry spell to let the saturated ground dry out; lots more rain later this coming week.

Was hoping the rain would clear early this morning but no looks like there’s even more than what was forecast now😩

How much rain have we had so far this winter? Broken records surely?

The same old posters in the model waffle thread are still posting rogue snowy charts that have never become reality, enough already😂

lassie23 absolutely, getting very tiresome going in there, clutching at non existent charts, I chucked the towel in on this winter at the end of Jan. Another huge disappointment for many in this thread. Been 11 yrs now, since a proper winter.

I don't think I've ever grown tired of winter so fast... Supposed to be my favorite season by a mile, but this year has been a turgid slog indeed! Looking forward to the prospect of thunderstorms, unless the convective season is a bust too?!?

The only spells that have stopped it from being a 0/10 were the mid January easterly and the December freezing fog.

snowrye yeah dont want the ssw happening late, which it now looks like might happen, and ruining spring again, last year was ridiculous down here till june. Just a mostly east wind with a rainy nw wind in-between, oh which then came back in July re rainy nw wind. Might have been the strong double dip which effected the atmosphere for so long perhaps.

And some joker called George Burns at GB News, has spoken with the following:

"UK snow forecast: Met Office confirms snow set to fall in just days as 'cold interlude' sparks freezing temperatures.

Snow is set to hit the UK once again as temperatures are currently forecast to fall below freezing."

And backs it up with the following "bone chilling" chart:

image.thumb.png.94a006fa9cc4c3552f5b27c30f33afd4.png

0c for a lot of our Region at 6 A,M. on a late February Morning.

How will we all, cope??

Regards,

Tom Q. 👍

Dami if you haven't found it dead, it's probably just moved, st this time of year, we'll spring anyway, they are looking for homes, or perhaps just popping out for a quick feed, then going back into there winter spot if a solitary type. My bumbles haven't popped out yet.

alexisj9 The cat and i watched it moving very slowly from the kitchen window, it stopped, somehow tuned on it's back and it's legs stopped moving and the wind blew it a bit down the patio. Today it's gone.
