  1. I have been out in the last hour, and significant snow has hit the county of Swansea. Most roads are again impassable (Both Major and Minor). The motorway between Cross hands and Baglan is barely negotiable, with one lane blocked. I did spot a huge snowplough heading westbound. Several inches here, unexpected and will cause havoc in the morning unless roads ploughed and salted. Marginally worse than tuesday even.
  2. Strange, its snowing here (albeit wet snow) at sea level right next to the loughor estuary. We still have a lot of lying snow, which may be holding down the temperatures slightly but I doubt it would make that much of a difference.
  3. Took a trip up to the 350m hill between Felindre and Garnswllt. Drifts around 4ft deep on exposed parts. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1078...p;id=1634747240 4th consecutive day of lying snow even near central swansea.
  4. What an exciting morning here west of Swansea. Snowed for hours last night, and started again at 8am this morning. By 9am, every road both major and minor impassable. Road was blocked for hours at fforestfach roundabout and for a time at fforestfach cross by lorries unable to move. Road blocked again at Penllegaer and motorway junction was closed. Several accidents on Pentregethin Road. Ended up in Gorseinon, and was unable to return home. No gritters or ploughs to be seen, many many cars abandoned on the slightest of hills. Eventually managed to get home via waunarlwydd after many attempts of getting up a very small hill. Snow stopped about 10:30, yet major roads are still covered in snow and minor roads impassable at 1:30. Just saw one plough with a police land rover escort going the wrong way down the dual carriageway. All schools closed in the area. The local villages of Felindre and Garnswllt are completely cut off, even most 4x4 vehicles are unable to reach here.
  5. Have just been out for a drive, and found the following: A4069 Mountain Road at Brynamman (Ascending to 520m) impassable at Upper Brynamman (300m). Betws - Morriston mountain road (340m) - Serious accident due to the snow. Involves several cars on one of the higher passes - one of which is dangling over the mountain edge. Road closed and impassable. Felindre - Garnswllt road closed Almost all minor and residential roads impassable in northern Carmarthenshire due to ice and snow. I was stupid enough to drive along a minor road at trap in the direction of Gwynfe, was stranded at the bottom of a small hill. It took an hour, lots of grit and shovelling and a ruined clutch to turn back.
