  1. I think 31C will be reached today south west of London... And 33C will be reached later in the week
  2. Cloud has completely gone here now & temp is currently at 24C (74F)... Already warmer than the forecast high from the BBC for here...
  3. A warm & muggy night has been followed by a cloudy morning, but the sun is now out. Last night's minimum: 18C (64F) Current temperature: 22C (72F)
  4. Still 20C (68F) here in Portsmouth, just got back from a walk on the beach & the sea is so calm, hardly any breeze at all. Quite cloudy so temps probably wont drop a great deal here, maybe down to 18C (64F) ??
  5. Mostly sunny sky here now, with just thin patchy clouds about, temp now at 23C (73F).
  6. A cloudy morning here in Portsmouth, with hardly a breath of wind. Been brightening up with glimpses of hazy sunshine, but also recently had a few spits & spots of rain, feeling warm & muggy though. Last night's low: 16C (61F) Current temp: 21C (70F)
  7. Very warm & humid here in Portsmouth & temp as warm as yesterday at 27C (81F) B)
  8. Sunny again here on the Hampshire coast, though I can see some cloud out towards the west & parts of Dorset have had some showers this morning. Lighter winds than yesterday & still from the NE so we should see decent temperatures down here again today. My maximum temp yesterday was 27C (81F) & nearest "official" Met Office station (Lee-On-Solent) got to 26C (79F). Last night's minimum: 15C (59F) Currently: 21C (70F)
  9. Indeed, the far north of New Zealand's climate is near sub-tropical, infact I seem to recall an Island a way off the coast having a coconut wash up on its shore & grow into a good sized coconut palm! Though I believe it has now died... Parts of the south Island have a climate very similar to milder parts of the UK, except of course it can get quite a bit hotter in NZ in the summer...
  10. A warm & humid day today, with sunny periods broken up with cloudier interludes making the sunshine at time rather hazy. Had a light shower earlier too. Last night's minimum temp: 13.5C (56F) Todays maximum temp: 22.5C (72.5F) Current temp: 21C (70F)
  11. A dull & cloudy morning so far here on the Hampshire coast, with the odd period of light rain, very light & patchy though, hardly enough to dampen the ground. Last night's minimum: 13C (55F) Current temperature: 15C (59F)
  12. Thanks for that Do you know how cold it got in Auckland in the end? (last night) It amazes me how varied the climate is in New Zealand, from north to south, for a country that isn't that large...
  13. More sunshine now in the last hour, feeling quite warm & humid with the temperature now at 22C (72F). It seems to suit the flying ants who have decided to "wing-up" & leave my garden, a bit early this year & they usually wait for a hot & humid day...
  14. More sunshine than yesterday here in Southsea, but still a fair amount of cloud about & still breezy too. Current temperature: 21C (70F)
  15. But the GFS always undercooks the maximum temperatures, most forecasters are able to adjust these temps & suggest a more likely outcome, even so there will always be a couple of spots that reach a few degrees higher even than those...
  16. Breezy here too, but sunny. Can see more patchy cloud appearing than there was an hour ago. Last nights minimum temperature: 12.5C (54.5F) Current temperature: 16C (61F)
  17. I think the highest temp this summer will be 33C (91F), somewhere around the London area... :o
  18. It has been a nice start to summer here on the south coast, after a fairly warm & dry spring. I recorded 22C in April, 27C at the end of May & just shy of 29C at the start of June. So far this month it has been mostly dry & sunny with temps getting to at least around 20C & last weekend it was in the mid 20's & in the low 20's this week
  19. After a generally cloudy but bright afternoon the sun has been trying its best to make itself seen & as a result in a sunny period around half an hour ago the temperature rose to todays maximum of 20C (68F). Now patchy cloud with the odd sunny spell & 19C (66F).
  20. Difficult to say where the exact highest temp would be as only the "official" Met Office sites would count. I'd say an "official" high will be recorded at the Lee-On-Solent site (on the Hampshire coast) as this is where the years highest temp so far was recorded at the beggining of the month (27.2C), I think it could get to 28C here next week... B)
  21. I don't suffer from hayfever, thankfully, but seem to attract every biting insect for miles around I have been bitten several times in this last week & have been getting bitten since April, I get a very bad reaction to them too & the area swells up for days (as well as itching like mad!). We get loads of mosquitos round here & they usually don't get killed off due to our mild winters either. I have had to have a door screen fitted to my back door so that I can get air in without the flies etc.. but unfortunately they still make their way through the open windows, I even have one of those UV blue light zapper things to try & keep the numbers down
  22. After a sunny start to the day we now have much more in the way of cloud, though still giving the odd sunny spell. Bright & rather hazy is one way to describe it. Last night's minimum temperature: 13C (55F) Current temperature: 18C (64F)
  23. Still dry & hazy sunshine here on the Hampshire coast, feeling very muggy despite the strong breeze too. Temperature currently 22C (72F) & appears to have maxed out at 23C (73F) about an hour ago
  24. Sunny here in Portsmouth, with just some whispy high cirrus clouds making the sky a more "milky" blue. Last night's minimum temperature: 15C (59F) Current temperature: 20C (68F)
  25. I saw a forecast on the BBC that Auckland is to get lows this week down to 1C. Is this likely? As I thought the record low there was 4C?
