american chasers are bookig flights to intercept the kent cell,
ive heard this rhumor, but apparently its drifting up towards the city airports. landing in those conditions would be all but impossible
-

well get you some sandbags too...
-
hows the sustained and torrential drizzle in kent? experiencing much flooding yet? looking at the radar id be inclined to get the sandbags ready...
-
well i have certainly learned all about the weather habits of seagulls! cheers
-
Feeling very stormy here on the isle of wight.. Wind has picked up a little... radio and sky have been going mad for the past 10 mins.... and seagulls have been coming inland..... all good signs...
ive head of the first two possibly coming before bad(or good) weather, but seagulls coming inland? maybe theyre just coming home from a hard day at sea?
-
currently relying on the meto radar and the 19:00 radar shows things really getting excited down there
-

net radar showing lots of our favourite red X'S up across the channel
not being able to afford the subscription for year year at the moment, i cant see. is it an even distribution throuhout the channel or focusing on fairly specific areas?
-
to be honest we wont be seeing anything yet anyway. its still a good 100 miles to the south, so we will have to wait a little longer
-
cant see aything as yet. too much cloud cluttering the sky at present. however fairly muggy here and 16 c

Convective forecast has been updated:
The edge of the main line for the stom aread is tantalisingly close to us cs englanders. lets hope storms are not always so obliging when it comes to staying within these lines very mlky skies here and feling throughly muggy and humid. nigh on overcast with a very thundery looking sky
-
deeper convection building in the far south west Channel, wonder if this is the Thundery area for S/E for tonight..
worth keeping an eye on.
Agreed. Also noticed a little line bubbling up in the channel there. Maybe worth keeping an eye on for this afternoon as well

Pleanty of Ac Cast on show here on the south coast, with it showing good signs of further development too. temp 20 c atm and feeling pretty humid
-
I woke this morning at 5:30 - god only knows why- and it looked very stormy outside with Ac covering the sky. All seems clear now, however developments on the sat images in the channel to the SW look interesting for later on. Hereshoping for a little light show
-
Right with ya on that one Stormyking. Im just across the water from you and I would be greatful to see something in the distance. Granted we had a tiny passing storm in March, but its a shame to waste the potential we have at the moment Heres hoping the weekend comes off

All very exciting stuff once again. Similar story to last Thursday for us folks further west I feel. I dont think electrical activity wason the cards then either, and if I recall correctly that was a trouh moving on through too. Could get used to all this excitement lol

-
well it seems that the end of the cold has comefor now.snow melting rapidly here and no signs of any developments in the next few days. shame but it was great fun while it lasted. thunderstorms anyone...? oh wait we still have 2 months of winter to go lol
-
Having recently joined the site, and being an avid fan of storms, could anyone shed any light on what causes the distinct colour differences in lightning?
Cheers

-

-
Those bands on raintoday are bunching up again into a proper front.

well i will say now that i know very little, but im hoping that it will continue to develop as it has on its eastward journey. it has built from very little and extended southward from the main clump, so just something to keep an eye on me thinks
