  1. What is it with storms thesedays , even temps in the high 30's with a front moving in cant produce widespread stuff anymore ,  the 70's seemed the best decade for storms here , the 90's were not to bad ,  but since then this location sucks

I've just been reading BrickFielder's quick analysis for today over on the 'Storms and Convective Discussion' and he suggests that storms will be breaking out over the Peak District from 2pm onwards, aided by a developing convergence zone with the chance of more isolated storms also being triggered by daytime heating into the evening hours.

Look like there will be nothing here then , a bit galling after enduring such heat

I'm lucky. Looking at the UKV 15Z today it'll all be over by 16:00 Tuesday. I feeling very sorry for people around Lincoln and Bedford areas.

Oh god I hope thats the same for here , and if i dont get a storm tues eve this summer can do one , as a previous summer lover its becoming my  season of hate now, and the reason is silly high temps are becoming a real risk , but storms seems to be fewer ,  roll on autumn,

  5. Nearly time folks ,  the dreaded heat is almost on us  😩

I suppose the sooner it comes the sooner its over ,  I just wish time would pass very quick , I feel two days of my life are wasted on damn hot weather 😠 , as there will be nothing to do but shelter indoors and try and keep cool ,  plus side is I am of work this week ,  I really do feel for anyone who has to work in 37 to 41c temps , I hope we never see anything like this again this year .....or ever

  6. As a 'mildy' , I normally like warmth and heat within reason  ,  and liking summer ,  Yes I do like warmth, and tstorms etc, and spring /summer are my favourite seasons for the above reasons ,  or was,  but if summers are going to be giving us these sorts of temps , you can shove summer where the sun dont shine  , these are not the mild pleasant uk summer temps like we are familiar with and most us love. Something is up with the climate . 40c is just wrong for Northern England.  I am dreading it to the point were I have a sickly pit feeling in my stomach

When the forcasters are saying even some fit and healthy will succumb is actually frightening ,   A reward for this suffering could be a good tstorm I hope

Most of the lightning strikes have been out of the warning areas south and east the last few days

yes , thunderstorms were forecast for northern and western parts ,  then a few isolated ones happened way down south and as far east as you can get

cant see anything here today , still cool, overcast, featureless stratus and breezy and heavy drizzle , think they are taking the ......

Unfortunately for us thunderstorm lovers, thunderstorms will be an extremely rare event indeed.

They already have become an extremely rare event here ,  They were a guaranteed part of the summer makup especially before the year 2000 say,     and even in spring 'thundery showers' was not that unusual,   but their frequency seems to have waned over the last few years ,  only heard distant thunder on one day from this location and its nearly August .

Well last night was absolutely horrendous for sleeping, even worse than the night before, incredibly stifling, constantly waking up in a pool of sweat. The chances of squeezing a thundery breakdown out of this heatwave look rather slim, but to be perfectly honest, I'm not that bothered right now. I'm just looking forward to some cooler nights and better sleep, which will be a blessed relief!

same here , but its more  of a  slow painful process that a sudden cool off
