Was snowing heavy when I left for work an hour ago, built up quicker thismorning about 2inch now. Currently in Rhoose where its still snowing lightly and an inch or so here. Temp back home rising now at 0.4C and DP 0.1C so the slow thaw should set in.
Even if it is just rain for me later today with the next system I am very happy to have seen a decent fall of snow and more laying than expected

Im not expecting snow past midday here. Dew points rise throughout the afternoon with rain more likely later than snow. But hopefully the cold can grip on
Fingers crossed things stay just the right side of marginal for us, currently 0c here and dp -0.3c. I do find it amusing in recent years we can rarely manage snow in winter but March seems to deliver for us on the coast!

You can see developing front off the coast of Cornwall that will slowly push north.Heavy pp but warm air behind it ,so high risk high reward.
Would you say it will likely have to be away from the coast for this second lot later for the chance of snow and rain on the coast?

Still snowing moderately, bigger flakes now. I have this silly hope today that like in times gone past they have the forecast wrong and the cold air manages to stay in place later today and it stays as snow all day and doesn't turn to rain later

Just been out to rescue my young eucalyptus tree that was bent right over under the wet snow and we have about an inch out there and snow has picked up a bit again.

Great to see Barry enjoying this too. Must be a first since 2018?
Yes this is the most we have had since 2018, had 2ft in Barry back then mind but I lived in Bridgend then sadly which didn't get as much, probably never see that again! Though we did get a little dusting in Barry for a few hours in 2021

Snowing here on the coast in Barry, setting on all but the roads, only a thin covering so far, think it might have started to rain first but starting to settle on the road as it gets heavier.

Well temps going the right way now 2.7c after a high of 7.4c. I'm still not overly optimistic for my location but a few miles inland and it's looking good!

2.5C and raining. Looks like I may have a chance of some snow in the morning, if temps on the coast can stay low enough.
Im travelling to Manchester on Friday morning so hope Thursdays snow in Mindlands doesn't make it difficult and is gone by Friday.

6 4C and raining atm but that was expected.
I am struggling to see any real snow low down close to the coast, hope im wrong but we rarely get snow here, 2018 being the last time anything more than 1cm fell and nothing on the ground last few years.
I just don't see this cold spell being cold enough this time of year for us costal locations.
Expecting the worst, hoping for the best as usual lol.

I do love some of these charts though all taken with a pinch of salt. Again like in winter I think you'd have to be away from the coast with a little elevation for any snow next week, it takes something quite special to get snow on the coast here this time of year.
I'm off to Manchester next Friday so hoping I can see some snow up there next weekend lol.

My tree in the front garden has started to bloom thanks to the milder weather we have had, I worry now its been tricked and if we get colder weather it could damage it. Already lost my bottlebrush tree and cordyline to the cold earlier in the season. Looking forward to it getting warmer for my gardens sake lol.

After a low of -1.9C we currently have a high of 1.4C due to fog and cloud cover.
-
Cold night low of -2C, very icy on pavements and roads out

Had a high of 3.7C today, currently 3.6C which is a lot less than the 6-7C we were suppose to be today!

Most the snow has gone now after all the sleety ice rain where im working in Cowbridge, I'd imagine it'll be the same in Barry but was lovely to see.
The A48 - Bonvilston and St Nicolas have a cm or so of snow around, being they are around 100m abl, which was lovely to see all whilte while driving through.
Finally got some sort of snow fix this winter lol yipee!
