  1. That may of been from the 12z run, the 18z run update has currently only got to T+66! So an upgrade is possible
  2. It would be of an significant help this year if the Councils around the country have got enough grit, and to grit every main road, M, A, B and major inner city roads (Slightly off topic) Back to next week, its not nailed yet, It is nailed within T48 hrs, so I dont want to see people dissapointed, so keep calm and watch the developments of the latest GFS, UKMO and ECM charts. The 18z GFS run will be interesting, so I will be on then, not a lot of posts at the moment (There will be then!)
  3. Yes they forecasted this on MONDAY MORNING! That was 5 DAYS AGO!!!!!
  4. Weve still got a bit of a ride before this event is going to happen The 18z GFS pub run will be interesting for sure
  5. Even my local forecaster mentioned snow by the middle of next week!
  6. Like I mentioned, the most affected areas if this event does go ahead will be Eastern Scotland, Northeast England, East Anglia, Thames Estuary and the South East, other places will get snow too
  7. Next Thursday!!! Everyone should watch it with intrest(Other way round for the charts, earliest at bottom)
  8. Dense fog all day, bloomin cold! Temp: 3.6C
  9. I have a feeling this could turn out to be an Easterly similar to February last year, with the Eastern side of the country most affected, but im not ruling out snow anywhere else Be excited on Tuesday of this event is due to happen!
  10. Yes the ECM may have been bad, but it wouldnt just back down like that, the next ECM run will be an upgrade I am sure of that! Read this from the Model discussion thread:
  11. Not true, ECM in the past has proven to be wrong, hopefully GFS will calm any fears of a massive downgrade
  12. TWS, Do you think my chances of snow are slightly reduced as i am inland or in the word East Anglia did you mean most of East Anglia or just near the coasts?
  13. You like me will have a very good chance for snow. When? Monday maybe Tuesday, and then a very good chance later on in the week
  14. I reckon now there is a 90% chance of snow in my location next week, and the East coast and South East aswell!Press now beginning to grab on story of the cold spell next week http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1234477/Chance-white-Christmas-grows-icy-blast-Scandinavia-set-make-UK-shiver.html
  15. Before I go back and watch my beloved Arsenal, ECM was stunning, so was the 12z GFS, im in the firing line for snow! Keep calm everyone for the next few days and if the charts are like this on Sunday, then the fun begins!
  16. I will do very well too!!! Oh and if there is another fiasco with road grit, then yes the country will grind to a halt
  17. Yes most likely, The amount of snow you get will depend if its a northerly or Easterly, you may get some from a North- Easterly though
  18. Just to add, these charts are stunning for 10 days time! Eastern side of the country especially!
  19. If an Easterly spell does come, I am very well placed for snow and a lot of it! , personally, I dont think the south west of England will see much of the white stuff unless from frontal event.
  20. From what I read earlier from the model discussion thread, the JMA is also a decent performer
  21. These are some snipets of Joe B's latest blog: the winter of 2002-2003 looks better to me as a base forecast, but that is just the base. It doesn't mean it can't be a bit colder. Here in the States, it is colder earlier also than that winter which had a rather mild December. Fully all of Europe is forecasted to be covered in snow by the 23rd! Again, this is the kind of thing I expected to see this winter... winter "backing in" from the northeast, but I am a bit skeptical because it is early Joe laminate floori Blog Summarising, he is saying the cold spell is very likely and he is confident snow is very likely but he does remain cautious over this
  22. This thread is a good idea for amateurs like me! So a very good ECM 12z, and a very good METO run aswell. A slight downgrade in respect for the GFS 12z, hopefully the 18z GFS run will bring a upgrade Very happy with this chart below:
  23. Well with the latest ECM 12z charts out, a Whit Christmas is a very good chance now, snow before the big day is likely so fingers crossed. Lets enjoy the ride everyone!
  24. Im ready for whatever comes! Loving the latest UKMO and ECM charts just hope GFS will follow suit for a more strong easterly and the formation of an Omega block
