    My God but that is a bitter night currently -8 possible -12 in the reckoning I think!! Loads of snow still here no thaw since Sunday I wonder if any snow will last for next week, my father use to say that bits of snow still around after rain and milder air was waiting for more so fingers crossed for next week!! Remarkable December have the turkey in so going nowhere tomorrow but enjoying the snow with the wee ones, might try to build an igloo

    Slight thaw here today, had a great day with the wee girl building snow men, sleding and snowball fight, the snow was better today for building snow men as opposed to the powderpuff stuff yesterday

    a VERY heavy snow shower has just passed - looks like tomorrow will have to be a snow day off work - ah well It was on at 9.30 after the news, looks like its going to be cold all week with milder weather returning on St Stephens day

    Morning all Have to rvise my snow depths actually 2 inchs - went into the town to get a paper, bad idea could barely get back home again the roads are a disaster not that the road service would care ba humbug, loving the snow though, plenty of showers on and off. MUst be getting yours FJ

    Hello just back from bloody christmas shopping in Cookstown, that was hell! Anyway currently -1 here light snow shower earlier roads in Pomeroy are treacherous

    Morning all its bitter out there this morning currently -3 for me thick fog too, have to say any rain would be dangerous this morning, it will freeze as soon as it hits the ground, Joe I would say it would quickly turn to snow for my area, not sure about your location tbh. But don't worry tomorrow was alawys going to be our best day. Given the strength of the wind tomorrow I fancy those showers to penetrate well inland

    Joe I don't think that the BBC have the right handle on this there may be some freezing rain which will actually help and following snow to stick quickly, in my view any rain will turn to snow sharpish

    Afternoon all, didn't get above 0 degrees here today a pathetic period of snow from 2.30 - 4.00pm just a light dusting from this. Still think it will be more snow thn sleet for here tomorrow, Sunday is looking really good

    Met office has upgraded the rain for tomorrow to snow & Sleet showers, anyone with elevation will do alright out of this, Sunday looking especially good for us North of Meath!!

    Where did this rain come out of for Saturday, surely it would be more like snow in the higher areas or is that wishful thinking?
