Lovely dry abeit rather cool morning, currently 14C, 75% humidity and a light westerly wind. Convection development earlier than yesterday and sky is partly covered by small but growing Cu. Could be heavy shiowers here this afternoon and maybe a rumble or two of thunder.
-
Cooler and fresher here at 16C and 52% rel humidity. Cumululiform development that started during mid-morning has been increasing and there are signs of showers nearby. Warm in the sunshine though.
-
Same here, the line is where I thought it would be at 5pm from just East of Worthing to Great Yarmouth, indicitive of a NE Moving Cold Front.
And yes Dave half the fun is picking your target before you see any risk charts, if you are miles outside any box you then have the option to re-check your forecast to see if you have hit the loony bin
Sorry if i sounded a bit rash earlier just some of the posts (Not so much on this forum) on other forums esp Ukww have been rude and inflamatry towards forecasters and it upset me quite a bit.
Knowing why things happen in the world of weather is one thing, but finding out why things don't happen is another, and I think the way things transpired over the past 24 hours or so proves this.
As I said earlier, you do a great job. Carry on Paul

Cant be much more coming? I dont have access to an up to date radar so cant really tell
No, it is beginning to die away fron the SSW and also moving a little faster into the North Sea now, and although it is raining here there is a clearance coming over from the NW, so things are staring to calm down.

Thanks Ed
I have read various forums today and there is a lot of animosity aimed at forecasters. I even screwed up yesterday, I had the choice of Monday or Tuesday with the BBC, From the models it looked like Monday was ripe, ALL Models showed the Cold Front pushed through with subsidence and not a lot else going on for Tuesday, I screwed up and I accept that because I followed the Models.
Cant wait for the programme to come out becuase knowing editors they will make me out to be a prize Tutk no doubt and edit it accordingly
Carry on Paul, you do a great job, but the fact remains that although conditions were ripe enough yesterday, mother nature had other ideas about showing her brilliant electrical displays until today, and capped herself until today. As I posted earlier, despite the heat, yesterday didn't feel really thundery here, but this morning it did, and although we haven't had the ferocity of storms that have occurred in the South and SE, there has been a reasonable amount of thunder. So I for one am happy, albeit a bit wet
-
Heavy rain for the past half hour with a few rumbles of thunder for good measure. Its 15C here and now feeling cooler and fresher than earlier. Radar shows more rain and maybe storms to come though.
-
Very heavy rain falling now, very large drops too. Thunder can still, be heard as it drifts out to sea
The whole frontal zone seems to be exploding!!
-
More rumbles of thunder started again, the whole sky now darkening and looking far more menacing. The whole frontal band is getting more and more intense.
-
Still thundering here with moderate rain falling too, but nothing too spectacular at the moment, and radar indicating clearance coming up from SW, so not going to last too long
-
Thundering here at the moment. Still very humid (82% rel H) yet cooler (16C) yet feels more thundery than it did at any time yesterday.
-
Radar is showing a line of biggish cells approaching the SW of England at the moment. Could be thundery and seems to be combining with the area of precipitation that is already over Cornwall and Devon
-
Nothing much happening here. Overcast with a layer of sometimes angry looking As which when it breaks reveals a layer of Ac above. Only the briefest of showers at about 5pm. Sure is humid though
-
Light showers are now showing on the radar around the wash. Am keeping an eye on this just in case it is radar error.
-
Has gone hazy here now with an almost complete covering of Cirrus and also the breeze has picked up in the last half hour. Its 30C here with 51% rel humidity. Not exaclty ingredients for storms, but could occur later this evening.
-
Radar showing the area of precipitation in the SW now beginning to get its act together as it moves ever more NNE. Another potentially thundery cell has developed on its northern flank heading towards central Wales.
-
A large area of cirrus now to my west, moving steadily SE-wards, showing the first signs of the beginnings of instability here, but problem is that the surface wind is from SE so theres no real change indicated here as yet.
-
That band of precipitation in the SW is already showing signs of defragmenting as it moves NNE accoridng to rainfall radar.
One cell has developed to the N of it though, somewhere near Cardiff me thinks.
-
Morning all. Well it looks like its going to be fun later, all the signs are there for something rather spectacular to close this heatwave. Its 26C here at the moment, clear skies and 61% humidity. Shall be on here as much as I can today, and can't wait to se how it all unfolds
-
Humid and warm with a brisk south westerly wind. A little rain this afternoon but no more than a passing shower. Generally cloudy with Alto-type clouds allowing some sunshine from time-to-time.
-
Morning mate. The main roads seem ok and it's currently sunny.
Cheers for that. Trains are running okay at the moment so I have to travel to your neck of the woods. There has been no snowfall here for a few hours now.
-
It looks like im going to remain in that annoying gap
Morning mate. What are conditions like in Scunny at the moment? There is a covering here but it is melting.
-
Absolutely no snow where i live in Humberston. Seems we missed everything, maybe a flurry here and a flurry there in the last 48, but thats about it - aside from last nights rain-fest.
There was a dusting this morning and some frozen patches left over from the previous fall, but it has all just about gone. I was in Scunny yesterday and left there in a blizzard at about 7:30pm
-
It's clouding over nicely here now, with hardly any thaw so far.It will be interesting to see how low the temps go tonight.
Hello mate. If you have any snow to spare could you send it over here please as it is thawing here
-
Snow showers here, not heavy at present and lying snow is thawing, but this is just the start and it looks like theres alot more on the way

Had one rumble of thunder about 10 mins ago at the start of what appears to be a very instense shower now approaching me from the SW. Rainfall is increasing in intensity as I am typing this message but so far no more thunder.
