Radar indicating Beverley area rather than Hull in the firing line.
-
Hi mate. checkout that pic i posted on page 8 with the icicles Hardly any thaw in days, and still around 6cm
I know mate. I was in your neck of the woods last night and left in freezing fog
-
Evening mate. It's currently at -1c here, but i expect it to get much lower very soon.I wouldn't be surprised if the temp was around -7c by morning.
Hello mate. The snow has been melting here by sublimation, but it is freezing again now.
-
Just recently had a grauple shower here, and the wind is increasing again
-
Snowing quite heavy now and settling nicely  :D
hello mate. Can you send some back over here please. Its turning to rain now
-
Snow has stopped and the skies are now very dark and threatening. Am expecting lighting and/or thunder out of this
Hi PMP, lovely pics, thanks for posting those
At the moment, the server is being updated, so you may run in to difficulties when editing your profile. If you would like me to, I will send you a pm as soon as everything is sorted
Regards
Brian
Good afternoon Lord Graupels. Thanks for the update.
How is your snowman progressing?
-
Still snowing heavily and it is now starting to settle. The wind is no where near as strong as yesterday so it could be an interesting evening if this keeps up
-
Moderate snow falling again, big flakes too, from a totally overcast sky. Not settling though
Edit: Falling heavier now. Trying to settle but so far not. Temperature seems to have risen slightly
-
Three heavy snow showers during the past couple of hours preceded by graupels before the snow arrived. Although it has settled I don't think it will stay on the ground for too long, as least in town.
-
Would like to post some images ... anyone know how to resize them to display on here ?
Try downloading free photo enhancing software like Irfanview. Here is the link

The area of precipitation over North and East Yorkshire seems to be getting its act together and looks rather more organised than earlier. It is moving very slowly but very erratically south.
-
First time poster. In Grange Moor,nr Emley Moor Mast, white out up hear and looking lovely.
Good evening katieb1972 and welcome to the forum.
Snow always looks lovely when it falls fresh. Glad you are enjoying it
-
Don't want to sound greedy, but I wish these showers were longer lasting. When a shower does arrive, the snow lays very quicky.
I can't complain though
Oh go on Brian. Spoil yourself
-
Radar is indicating one or two larger and more potent cells moving towards my area. This could be the first real significant snow, but they wont last long.
-
Light snow falling here in Cleethorpes, but the main feature is still the strength of the wind.
-
15 miles S of Scarborough, 10 miles due W of Brid and quiet since 1830. Line of showers running to S of Driffield currently, but heavier ones passing to N. Not pleasant driving on top the Wolds earlier, if this continues will be some road closures in the morning.
Langtoft. 70m amsl.
Thanks woldsowl and also to Gorky for his earlier post. The radar has been showing alot of activity around your area
-
Anyone in the Scarborough/Bridlington area at the moment? Looks like some heavy snow showers are falling around there at the moment according to the radar
-
Do you think we could get something a little later?
Depends what happens as the system moves slowly south. It could be rejunvinated, or it could just slowly die out. Radar is indicating some intensification though at the moment
-
That rather more organised band that I spoke about earlier over North Norfolk seems to be heading for the Boston area. And it is still growing.
-
A light snow shower has just blown through, and hopefully a heavier one will hit soon
Poor soon, does he deserve to get hit?
Evening mate. Hope we have a taste of the action snow-wise tonight
-
Evening, John, Yes we're fine thank you How are you doing?
Yes, we could be in for quite a spectacular evening.
I'm all ready for the action. The fire is lit; Ive tested
my outside lights, and my security camera is fully operational
Good to hear Brian. Hope you have passed your snowman building course
Nothing much happening here though. A few wintry showers but that is all.
I am good thanks, and happy
-
Just on the edge of a shower at the moment, and there seems to be plenty more, which are waiting in the wings, according to the current radar
(bows gracefully) Good evening Lord Graupel. Hope you and Lady Graupel are well. Yes I am back and looking forward to seeing some snow, and by the look of the radar your area seems favoured
-
Radar clearly showing something more organised coming off the coast in North Yorkshire and also North Norfolk. Just this annoying gap in between
-
Hail and snow graupels falling yet again. If this wind were to drop then conditions could change greatly.
