    well it's great to see the mood lifted in here tonight. This is only my second post in this thread having lurked in the background for a couple of years. I have to say to see the big three agreeing in the mid term is very exciting indeed ..Mr Muir must be a very happy chappy !

    WOW ! over 1,000 people and growing in the model thread this evening, having seen the GFS 12z I can understand why. anyone remind me what the record is ?

    well from next weekend it looks like we are going into the freezer with the first snow event possible for around the 15th ..at last something to look forward to.

    Why there are so many disappointed "coldies" in here this morning I just don't know. All of next week the models are showing well below average temps for the whole Country ..attacks from LP systems coming in from the West have always been how we in South Wales and the South west have get our big snow events and this now looks quite likely to happen as we head towards next Weekend. I am more than happy with the current set up ..

    Apologies if this is a stupid question. I have a keen interest in Winter weather and often pop into this thread to have a look at what the models are telling us and to read posts from the more experienced among us. What I would like to know is why if the charts in FI are useless and not worth looking at then why are they published in the first place, surely the computers would be better concentrating their information etc on the nearer time frame rather than 10 days down the line .. regards Ian

    if the ECM follows the GFS later I'm convinced we will get the easterly in the 5-10 day frame time ..lets get the cold in place then the snow will come ...just ask Andy LOL

    morning all, squall line is looking quite nasty now on radar, already getting gusts her at 30-35mph on the coast.

    The sky has turned black to my South and the wind has picked up ..some intense rain on the way by the look of it !

    very heavy rain now here in Rhoose, light aircraft being told to return to the airport ..no thunder heard yet.
