I cant belive its reported on here to the south of us have little snow: Its been very heavy with often white out here since 11.0am..Just been out to mesure and we have 9" of lying snow. with some drifts nearly up to 2 foot..and its still snowing..big flakes as well..think Iam in for the week..

Ill go with that Danm: Because after it passes the winds go to a South Easterly, which will be cold and much dryer. The high then takes over in the south of u.k. later in the week, this will then be the end of this current cold spell

Hammer: I cant belive what we have had and what we are getting..22cm on the ground now...infact we have more snow than there is sand on the beach..and looking at the radar, very heavy ones to come in the next hour..SNOW ON !!!

Lowest here -6. at 8.59am...8 inches of lying snow....NOWCAST : 0.c...snow showers wind light n/e....INTO NEXT WEEK : After Sundays big event the wind looks set to go to a south easterly direction...And the high slips south east..at the end of the week the high sits to the south allowing a flood of milder s/w. winds ito the U.K...Anybody pick up on this yet...so next week looks to be last of this bitterly cold spell

Here we go boys. Looking longer term. Thr East wind is with us up till Wednesday next week, then it goes into a south Easterly direction.Then the high slips back to the north again, and this reopens the Easterly door again...its not looking good...for salt supplys. Anybody have views on a south easterly. I know europe is in the same cold snap, but what about snow fron that direction ????

Down to freezing point now..and the wind is up to 22mph..but still n/nw. just a few grains out of a grey sky..at the moment it looks to be Lincolnshire getting the snow

agree with the wind direction its still n/nwesterly...no easterly in it yet

The wind direction is NOT NE or EAST , this would go against the flow of the low pressure... All wind report stations are currently still West/North West.

NOWCAST : Very grey /white looking clouds here. Had two heavy showers befor mid day. But only a few grains every now and again since then . Its +1 and the wind is n/nw at 8mph at this time : As the low sinks down the coast is the time to watch as this will bring in a more n/easterly. I will post the duch radar again in another post, for all that missed it yesterday

gone quite on here now..think thats it for now..east kent is getting whats left of it, it will soon be over boys..then its a frosty night, then we wait for 2mrws sun warmth to get the showers going again

Looking at longer time charts.sunday onwards... I.E. the faxes..if that big low pressure system get sucked in to the north easterly flow...we will grind to a halt..anybody have any views on this..or any info to show that it will come ourway in a weeks time ???
