NOWCAST ...WOW !! Not seen flakes as big as this in my living memory ( and yes iam old ) . Started here at 8.30am this morning, then stopped for about an hour around midday.But since then its been streaming down, another point is in the last 15mins, the wind has picked up., now a brisk n/easterly. If it keeps on like this Iam going to have a snow-go-birthday 2mrw.

May be..just Maybe...we will see something out of this...its -2 here again at the moment. It did get down to -3.4 last night...wind has slightly picked up from the north east...BRING IT ON ***

I have been looking at motorway web cams. And I cant see much until you get up to stoke on trent, and Sheffield on the M1...am I missing something...help

Hammer: I did move here 3 years ago, and yes it is the dry part of the U.K. best place in the summer mind you. . Iam down beat, as for the past few days everybody on here is talking about the big event. Just look at the radar, its not all blue is it and not wide , more like heavy showers. And now its being repoert that rain is falling along the south coast...Like I have said..wait for the north easterly streamers...SNOW ON !!!!!!!

Whats the fuss..Hardly any clouds here, and its +1c at the moment. And the radar shows very little snow/rain around. I think we all have to wait till tomorows north easterly wind..First it was Monday then Tuesday and now Wednesday...getting fed up now, its all slow moving..

the front moving south looks a slow affair. I make it moving about 20 m.p.h. That makes it 18/20 hours to reach london..so ill go for mid day London..and 11am for my region...but how much snow.. ??? . it may weeken on its way south. Fronts from the north usually do

Iam not far from the Essex/suffolk border. beeen sunny all day ,local station showes +2 at the moment, but the frost is still on the roofs that the sun did not reach. I dont trust the radar, like I have said before. the other day it showed very blue over me and did not get a single drop.

I dont trust the met office forecasts sorry: And remember everybody..fronts moving down from the north, dont often give our region much. We need the north/easterly flow..hopefully this will be later in the week.

Do they really know ???...The met office radar yesterday showed we had rain/snow. but not a drop fell. now the net weather is saying my town as + 1c. tonight, and at this time my local weather station is showing -2. Yesterday it was tuesday and thursday as big snow days..now the bbc is slight fall of snow...Do they really know..or who knows.??

Ill stick to my charts..and by next week -end the easterly wind will be so strong..with a very big wind chill..it will take a brave person to venture out.

YEP. I found that temperature correct. And on the same day a U.K. record was recorded at Bbaemar/ Grampions -27.2...AND ..
The lowest temperature ever recorded in the world was in Vostok on July 21st in 1983, which recorded a temperature of MINUS eighty nine degrees. Oh MY THATS COLD

There are reports that a record low temperature could be recorded next week..anybody know what the record is ..?????????

The met office are always frightend to put their money where their mouth is: And have you noticed, schools closed, major roads closed, people cant get to work, trains not running . yet the reporters/t.v. crews are allways there..

Dont always belive in the radar. Its been showing rain/snow here for the last hour, and not a drop of it, in fact there is more blue sky than clouds...

been clear and sunny all day, moon was out 30mins ago..but its now gone cloudy..and there is already a thick frost on the cars. its -1 at the moment, any one think this cold spell will give a record low temp for England...and what is the lowest recorded temp.??????????????

OK ALL: Lets put this storm behind us because we are not going to get anything out of this but rain, at leased it will wash the salt of the roads and cars: Its not until later in the week and the week-end that we see the north easterlies bite in. So its the next storm that is more positive for snow. Some biting cold winds will then send temps. down for our region , and this is not good news for people returning to work next week..Sit back for now watch the rain..then get ready for an icy start to the new year..

Not a flake here out of yesterdays snow..But then we dont get much here anyway ( little clacton essex. ) We had the best of the summer waeather in the country and we are in the dryest part of the land...Think we have to wait untill the new year now for the next big event

Posting this again...here you can follow the heavy showers moving in from the north/east...look at the size of this current heavy shower.
