Very heavy now and blowing around quite a bit.Hats off to the BBC and the meto got this one spot on.

Heavy snow ,sticking to ever thing .

Were is here C S ,you don't say were you are or do you just mean the whole of the north west.

Got a inch or two here,but it has stopped atm but the sky to my west is full of big black clouds.

Also had some light snow here about 10.30.Bright and sunny atm and you can really feel the nly wind. fingers crossed for some wintry weather over the next few days.

Meto just issued a warning to police and other emergency services about possible wintry weather for Thursday Friday in the north west affecting most areas for a time.

Just cold and gray here today,but after tomorrow things should start looking interesting .Lets hope the nly does us proud and gives us a good dumping and leaves nothing for them greedy southerns.

I'm not getting to excited about it yet ,all tho it would be nice,am fed up at looking at all the green fields and hills.

Reading all them good byes i could here Vera Lyn singing we-el meet again don't know when.Its been great the last few weeks hope its not too long till the next cold spell ,does anyone know what the forecast for this area is tomorrow as i have a event planed and i am thinking the weather will be wet and windy can anyone confirm this cheers.

I have enjoyed reading all the regional post over the last few weeks and for us cold lovers we have been spoiled and now its back to reality with a bump into the wet and windy weather. This year i am going to educate myself and get to grips with model reading so i can understand and interact with the model output thread ,till then i will continue reading all the post and asking questions when i need something explained,this winter has been the best i can remember for over 20 years and i hope this is the start off a trend to wards colder winters. For me it is not just about snow its also about clear night time skies and hard frosts and long walks with the dogs in bright sunshine,but i am also realist and know that our winters never guarantee such weather and that we have to take the good with the bad ,last night itv program about how the country has copped was interesting but i can not see are government spending a couple off billion pounds to mack sure we can cope in the future,but you never know. So thanks everyone for the great posts over the last few weeks and not forgetting we still have two more months off winter left .

Thanks thunder snow,i hope they have some grit on the M58 for my trip to work tonight in Liverpool that motorway had been pants before over and after Christmas.

Had light snow since first light and a continues thaw,the pavements are a real mess now whats tonights temps looking like as it looks like the Sky's are starting to clear now.

Light thaw here but not much,still got a lot off snow around .Just been reading the model thread and there seems to be a lot off uncertainty about what is going to happen this week,i don't think we will see temps getting above 3.0c off a day time as for snow lets see how far the front gets into the north tomorrow ,i would be happy to see a return to what we had a week or so before Christmas with a little bit off everything to keep everyone happy.

Light snow falling ATM here in chorley,been to burs country park at bury this afternoon and light snow fell most of the time we were there with a temp off 2.0c It was 0.0c here when we got home and now i can not see the lights off rivington.

Cold night at work last night in Liverpool, at around 06.00 the temp at the pier head was -6.7c and it had a raw make your eyes water feel to it, even when we were skiing in Italy last year with the temp most days not getting above -0.5c and lows of -24c it didn't seem as cold as it does here in this cold spell . Anyone got anyone got any idea how long this cold can last the models thread are talking about a possible brake down some time next week i hope this is not the case as i would love to see a winter record being set and to be able to say remember the winter off 2009&2010 .

More snow has fallen overnight about 1 inch and the sky to my Northwest and east looks very heavy with cloud but its not showing up on the radar.Fingers crossed for some more today to top up yesterdays.

Iv had problems with getting on the forum also had a power loss for a few secs.still snowing lightly here .

wysiwyg Wat's it like in chorley and how are the temps i have no weather station here but i can see some snow melt coming off next doors roof but may be he just has poor insulation.

Morning all nice clear dry frosty morning here temp is -3.0c ATM ,off up winter hill for a walk this morning with 8 giant breed newfoundland dogs sorry in advance to anyone we meet on the way.

I can see it from my house and yesterday it had a nice snow cap on it ,dont know about today i am at work in liverpool and it will be dark when i get home.

Luke Over the last 30 years i have seen some big falls and low temps in liverpool dec 0000 being the last with a good dumping and it lasting till newyears eve .last year we also had some very low temps freezing princess dock dock near to were i am stationed trapping a goose in thick ice witch could support the weight of a 17 stone fireman, Im no weather expert but im sure this cold spell will deliver everything you ever wished for. Sorry about the poor spelling am at work with no spell check.
