    WOW VERY heavy snow at the moment in mid Wales !!! Suddenly there's already 1-2 inches and snow is still falling - giant flakes, why weren't we warned about this? the roads are hazardous here!

    Hey all We have a few cm's of snow here in Ceredigion =) Clouds look very black and the wind is light so the showers seem very long lasting. Temperature is 0-2C here (keeps changing).

    We woke up to a light covering of snow this morning =) But it's now 5C and a rapid thaw is taking place.

    Good evening all. Currently 3C here and its raining :/ Looking at the forecasts it looks like the weather this week will be cold but not cold enough for snow, so its going to feel yucky in the cold rain... ah well

    Today has been amazing here. Very heavy snow on and off throughout the day, with some hail as well. Snow did start to melt this afternoon, but is now re-freezing on the roads, not looking forward to tomorrow morning Temp- Exactly 0C

    What seems to be happening here over and over again, is that each time we get a shower, it starts off as hail. The hail gets heavier and heavier and then BANG! really big snow flakes.

    Crazy sized flakes here now Don't think I've seen such big flakes in at least 10 years. Finally some decent snow for a part of Wales that usually misses out

    Still snowing very heavily here. Temperature falling as well. Was 1C at about 11am and now its 0.3C

    Good morning allWow we've had some really heavy snow and hail showers here this morning :lol: The showers seem to alternate between snow and hail very quickly. I know this is bit off topic, but could someone please explain what causes it to hail rather than snow? Thanks

    Just something to bear in mind Some of these showers, whilst heavy, can come and go very quickly. I think the last one lasted only 5-6 minutes.

    Got a light covering here now Temp currently 0.8C and it dips to about 0.1 each time a snow shower comes.

    They said something on forecast about rain bringing the freezing point down, so we may get rain and then snow and then possibly rain ?

    Looking at the radar it looks as though there's a bit more heavy stuff coming my way Well, I expect its the last snow we get for a while, I'm kinda looking forward to the thaw, at least then I can get to town and school and shops.Couldn't get into school today, but they gave us work to do for today, yesterday.

    Haven't had much at all and to make matters worse, we've now got a great big hole over us on the radar..

    It took about an hour to get from Lampeter to Trawscoed, so maybe another hour for Mach?

    Moderate snow starting here now, and temp has risen from exactly 0 to 0.4/0.5C :/
