  1. Temperature still below freezing here (just), makes a change not to hear the gutters overflowing. Come on snow... so close!
  2. IIRC the other was a advanced warning this is a FLASH warning but this one includes 'Drifting Snow'
  3. FLASH warning for Essex now: http://metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ee/ee_forecast_warnings.html
  4. Time to go shopping and stock up Might be a good idea for Essex folk to take a break from radar watching for a few hours, nothing really making landfall yet.
  5. Good news for all really: There is a high risk of severe weather affecting Essex, Kent, East Sussex and eastern parts of West Sussex. Outbreaks of snow starting on Saturday afternoon will become heavy and persistent during the evening and last into Sunday. 7 to 12 cm of fresh level snow are expected widely with 10 to 20 cm locally. Drifting in the very strong winds will cause even greater accumulations in places. Disruption to transport networks is possible.
  6. LOL typical: I suspect a higher grade warning is on the way for Essex
  7. Bit of a slow burner for us Essex folk at the moment, it's on it's way but not ion a hurry lol
  8. No renewed warnings yet from the Met for Kent... still nothing for Essex
  9. Rather poor new forecasts for today and overnight for Kent: http://metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/se_forecast_weather.html Wintry and sleet mentioned rather then snow
  10. Source: http://www.meteogroup.co.uk/uk/home/weather/radar/united_kingdom.html
  11. Dunno why but Essex always seems to escape the real warnings when the Southend area is so close to Kent! Generally all of Essex is 3-7CM with Western parts a lot higher (up to 17CM). I hope that doesn't mean sleet in the East and South of Essex lol I cannot believe how the radar has suddenly come alive in the last half hour, could be a huge band from Mid Suffolk down to Kent forming!!!
  12. 01:35Z radar is rather exciting I must say, a impressive blob over Maldon with 64 mm/hr core and another forming below Clacton. 'Take Action' (thats the RED one) warning being considered for Kent during routine updates tomorrow morning
  13. Wow the radar is really kicking off along the suffolk and essex coast lol
  14. I'm adding the 12 hour totals together from 6PM Saturday through to 6AM Monday. The new short range model from exeter has just updated: http://i45.tinypic.com/33jpesh.jpg (21Z Sat) http://i45.tinypic.com/2zsb18y.jpg (09Z Sun) Snow is really focused on that SE corner from Sussex/Kent into Essex.
  15. Some big showers developing over Colchester way with our name on. At last a favourable wind direction for us. I forgot to mention... that summary above about snow depths are from tomorrow night. Anything tonight is a bonus.
  16. Latest run of the HIRLAM (Dutch Met) model upgrades snowfall amounts with 22cm over Central Kent and 17cm over South-West Essex. Could well snow for some 24-36 hours in some spots in Kent (if only lightly)
  17. Latest UKMO discussions increase precip across Suffolk and Norfolk between 00Z and 03Z moving SSW. Radar may be showing signs of this now??
  18. Just popped on to say it's snowing here in Danbury. -4.1 deg. C
  19. I'm taking a night off from looking at the models/radar/satellite etc. Tomorrow night will still be there in the morning on the charts so no point on getting excitied/disappointed already. Good posts tonight Steve, and good luck all se'ers tomorrow night! Night!
  20. Oh no!!!! No local weather due to technical problems. Peter... sob
  21. Nobody look at the ECM tonight... cold spell is over by Wednesday!
