Clear, sunny and frosty in Westbury where I am out working, rather slippery on some surfaces though!
-
Meanwhile ahead of the front it's been a sunshine and showers morning, breezy and 11.9c .
-
Wonderful day from start to finish, introduced my boy to his first early morning frosty walk too!
Reading between the lines of Ian's Points West forecast there seems potential for quite a squall line tomorrow with winds rapidly switching from SW to NW followed by a quick cool down too.
-
Stunning day, mostly sunny, scattered Cumulus, distant TCu, fresh NW wind, 9.7c after a slight frost first thing.
-
21mm in my gauge and now a lovely day although cooler than first thing at 10.2c .
-
We were woken by torrential rain at about 05.30 and it's still raining now, not ventured out to my gauge yet, 12.3c .

In Poole at the moment, getting the Barnet cut and arguing over whether to go for a KFC or not?!
Foggy until 11am back home. Nice and sunny here.
Could do with some sun here or the dreaded tumble dryer usage will begin! It's brightened twice (about 08.30 and 12.30) then gone gloomy again.
-
Pretty much a whole week of fine or sunny days after today turned out glorious after early fog.
-
Very benign Autumn morning, mist/shallow fog alternating with clear sky, 5.7c .
-
Quite an odd day with lightbulb / hazy sun throughout, no blue sky and no cloud thicker than the 100% coverage of Cirrus. Maximum of 12.8c .
-
Lovely to see the first frost since April, 0.6c at present with a pretty sunrise due to Cirrus.
-
I am always relieved when the first evening after the clocks change is clear as it prevents darkness descending by 4pm!
Less good is how we lose sunlight from the garden day by day due to the neighbours house and tree, it makes drying washing an airers moving challenge lol.
Temperature dropping now, 10.9c after being 13.0c less than an hour ago.

Another grotty day for the bin. Need that cold front to move through asap.
Through here before dawn and a perfect sunny morning! No fresher though!
-
We've had some decent sunny spells between the gloomy Stratocumulus, quite hazy though with a lot of high cloud too, I think being near high ground as well as there being a strong wind is helping to break the cloud up, the temperature has responded with 17.9c the maximum.

That unexpected moment when you go outside at nearly 22.00, after a thoroughly dismal day, with a grim forecast for the next morning, and the stars are shining!

When LOWs pass to our North we always get stronger NW winds on the back end on a bright, showery day. It also happened in early June.

Mapantz... yep even though I am probably far more inland than you.. I know what you mean. I could hear a racket of what sounded like wind rushing through trees in the distance but no winds near the house. I’m fairly elevated over newbury so you do tend to get the winds. It almost felt like being sheltered. I just thought it was me imagining I could hear it all. But it did cross my mind for one fleeting point .. could it be at a higher altitude..
Quiet as anything here now. Got to go and sort my friends horses out in a mo so I’ll have a look. It could well be we just were sheltered from a unique direction of the wind!
If you hear gusts nearby but not directly over your location they could be associated with a shower passing through that location.
Equally we live right under the Western edge of Salisbury Plain and often hear wind gusting, even howling, on the hills.
So many plausible explanations!

16mm this morning, the wettest spell for quite a while . Did any predictions have the rain from the South being far enough West to virtually merge with the Atlantic front!?
-
Torrential rain in the last half hour after drizzle and showers earlier, to think the Countryfile forecast had the Atlantic fronts over this part of the region first thing this morning, instead we have a deluge from the South!
-
I thought my eyes were deceiving me earlier but something of a repeat of yesterday, Mapantz confirms it, perhaps worse towards the South coast though.
-
As Mike stated earlier it has cleared right up this afternoon with a subtle change in wind direction.
Said wind is gusting at the strongest so far today and although still warm at 17.7c it's noticeably fresher than this morning.
-
It's gone like an eclipse now AJ with low cloud racing SW to NE beneath the 'dust' so no sun visible now , a yellowy orange glow and like twilight.

The Cold Front pepped up as it moved over between 08.00 - 09.00 so it rained quite heavily for a while along with blustery winds.
However by 09.30 we had clear sky, sunshine and a dropping temperature.
A lovely day from then on and washing was quick to dry too.
