The second weekend in a row with most of the rain overnight. Very fortunate timing! And a very pleasant afternoon outside.

*Waders required to hang bedding on the line! *Slight exaggeration but it’s back to square one!

A proper April showers day today with plenty of warm feeling sunshine in between.

Alderc 2.0 I just had to wear sunglasses while hanging towels on the line. Oh the joy !

Not sure how but there was an hour (whooppee!) with decent sunshine mid morning. Shame it’s been sandwiched by showers, drizzle, gloom and wind!

*Stormforce~beka* Hope you’re ok, not bruised etc! Steady on here, got a few sunny spells, still invizdriz in the air on and off though.

Any idea when there might actually be an even partly cloudy morning? Let alone a clear one! Feasibly it could be light enough by 06.30 to have no lights on indoors, but no chance with it being dull every morning! Would gladly swap 11c and gloom for 0c and frost/sunshine!

Add drizzle to that. The one chance of a dry day gone before 07.00!

Alderc 2.0 there were a few model runs on Saturday/Sunday that kept this rain over France and delayed any rain on Thursday until the night - that looks set to arrive by early afternoon now too! Drier tomorrow, maybe!!!

Ah the old sky clearing towards sunset scenario is rearing itself again! Probably going to be quite clear most of the night then dull and wet tomorrow !

Spoke too soon earlier. It’s been raining, sometimes pouring, for 2 hours now from a kind of back building downpour.

The first day this year with almost stationary heavy showers developing then dying in situ. A very convective sky here despite a lot of mid/high level cloud. A dry day so far though IMBY with some hazy sunshine after heavy rain overnight.

Today started looking promising for an interesting day with sunshine and sharp showers. However since 11.00 it’s just been cloudy and dry.

Shame there’s more rain due this weekend because the ground is just beginning to dry out in the strong SEly wind!

Big differences locally this morning. Warminster is crystal clear and sunny. Westbury is misty. Trowbridge is freezing and foggy!

MP-R it has here too, finally and thankfully! The last of the rain stopped at about 12.00 then frontal cloud finally departed the sun about 13.30!

Literally fed up this morning. Big area of rain spiralling around Southern England and actually developing further on its NW flank in my area. Why is it when the set up is unsettled things seem to self perpetuate into even worse? It’s raining here, now, and likely worsening when every forecast and app and model yesterday evening had a 95% dry, sunny day with minimal light shower risk. As it is now we’ll be lucky to scrape a little lightbulb sun if the frontal cloud begins to move away this afternoon! Short term precipitation modelling and forecasting has definitely got worse in recent times. One example being Friday into Saturday that brought the snow. Another being back in the Autumn with a large area of heavy rain. There are others.

Not sure what’s gone wrong today? Probably 90% of the available sunshine and very pleasant from 11.00-16.00! Lovely hard frost first thing too.

Err, what!?

So pleased that the clearer conditions actually occurred during the daytime today! Plenty of sunshine and only a few brief showers between 09.30-16.00 !

Oh my it’s actually rather sunny! What a novelty! It has come after another novelty, a bit of the white stuff in very wet blobby style around 09.30 !

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when the sky started clearing at dusk! Stars shining well now, of course! The grand total of 4 dry days in February. The even grander total of 188mm !

The amount of cloud outside of the rain bands is pretty frustrating to be honest! Yesterday was cloudy before and after the rain band, with lightbulb sun visible for a while in the morning. Now today the rain band stopped 3+ hours ago yet it’s only now the lightbulb sun is visible. And it’s very unlikely to get brighter!
