On new years 1994 we had northerly polar low dropped down covering of snow - Boxing Day 1996 same thing forecast was dry Brentwood got 6 inches of snow early 2005/2006 I think two years running almost to the same week! another northerly with polar low cars stuck on M11 started out as rain turned quickly to snow all never in original forcasts during those cold spells so we can and have had snow out of these sets ups

My bbc weather app on phone is dire at the moment for Thurs/Fri one minute snowflake the next rain then snowflake and with only 24 hours to go before colder weather back to rain this morning

Love this post from Output thread Mods - apologies in advance. Can you turn a blind eye to this homage to the great Rob McElwee?
I remember waiting for this forecast with anticipation. Netweather had been buzzing with talk of possible snow for the South Coast on the Monday after many snowless years. When I saw it was Rob McElwee doing the forecast I was sure he'd stick his neck out and make the call for Monday. Was gutted when I thought the forecast was coming to an end without any mention of Monday, but I should never have doubted the great man!!
Might I also add we should start a campaign to get him posting on here wouldn't that be fab?

Yeah I meant 2nd glad to see your on the ball April 24th 81 was also very coldI noticed that. I think the day was 2nd June, but also thought it might have been a slip when typing, so the 2 and 5 were both pressed. I suppose the point was pertinent, whatever, though.
