Terrific thunder and lightning this early morning. Woken up by very loud clap of thunder around 4.30am then lightning every ten seconds or so for the 45 minutes before easing away by about 5.30am. Looks like more in the channel about to roll in.

Lots of lightning in the channel heading towards the coast. Just had a rumble in Poole, I'm hoping we get a good storm!

OH, and some welcomed rain, adding 5.2mm to the months total.

The few remaining Grockles rushing to hide un der the pier as the second cell pummels them...

Good rumbles of thunder. Shame it's not lasting with some lightning ⚡ Still, we have rather been storm starved here so anything is better than nothing

I am surprised there hasn't been one for here either. We had a yellow warning for snow and ice yesterday, so did they think everything would dry up before it got dark? Everything is iced up now, and still no ice warning.

I can't believe it. Where I live is a skating rink. The roads and pavements are covered in ice. Definitely an ice day here

Morning All, a real autumnal start to the day earlier on with dense fog around 05:30, now a layer of stratus seems the order this morning, after an overnight low of 14.9°C at: 02:06, currently 19.7°C,RH86% and a light 6mph breeze in from the NE. Hint of possible rain later?

Down at the beach, just for birds today by the look of things

The trees are changing fast, seems faster than normal and there's quite a lot of leaves falling, especially conker trees
