  1. 6, 9, 16, 18, 31, 38 Use them wisely..! But honestly, I hope this all doesn't go upside down on us all.
  2. I should also mention that anywhere between 1-3mm of any snow that falls won't count towards any settling stuff.
  3. Right oh, here we are - a rather vague map. PLEASE bear in mind this is not for snow, this is mearly total rainfall in the Midlands during the start of Thurday to 6am on Friday. Dispite the colours, only the red zone is anything substantial.
  4. Hmm... I think i'll have another pop at this map lark. Keep your eyes peeled (and start peeling them if the 18z pushes everything away...)
  5. Birmingham's gonna get pasted according to BBC maps... I think it reads "16 hours of snow"
  6. 12z shifts the snow a bit north-west. (Lucky for me!)
  7. Very heavy snow now, rather large flakes. I can see ice building up on zé old car, that' usually a good sign.
  8. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted - turned completely to rain. And now completely back to snow. This is confusing, at the least. :-P
  9. Still snow here, although it's changing strength faster than mentionable.
  10. Moderate snow. Certainly 'trying' to stick on surfaces... Just been over to Blackheath where they too are enjoying some nice snow.
  11. Turned my back for one minute... and guess what's happened. It's snowing more heavily. At least I can tell now that it's pure snow. Pretty, but nothing else.
  12. On closer inspection, it's a bit sleetish. But there's definately some large flakes flitering down.
  13. Immediately we may all see just sleet, but there's quite a high chance that it'll have turned to snow by midday, (perhaps except in the "very" south midlands...)
  14. Would you believe it... the Met Office have moved the warnings straight from the east to the west.
  15. My forecast for non-settling snow around the Birmingham area still stands for midday tommorrow. The Met'O'Model seems to agree with the DFS Sale GFS for a reasonable amount of precipitation around the whole midlands tommorrow around midday, so the game's afoot.
  16. At least there's something to hold on to. Also, an IMBY point for us, there may be falling snow in and around the Birmingham area at midday Wednesday. Although there's little-to-no chance of any accumulation, but it'll be a nice sweep of 'winteryness'.
  17. Doesn't the NAE show pink if it's indicating pure snow? I'll plead ignorence here but I've always thought the blue ment both rain and sleet.
  18. Hmm, just noticed that the "Magic 6 O'Clock GFS" ™ brings the front back north, pulling the band with it. That could prove at least a bit intresting. Edit: Looked back at it, maybe not interesting at all.
  19. I had measured just shy of a foot of snow earlier in January! That's what I call 'goods'! Anyway, I reckon I could have a brief shot at forecasting. Tommorrow morning looks like there could be showers flitering from the north-west, perhaps wintery in nature, especially along the eastern flank of them. Then a band will pass the Midlands tommorrow night, mostly consisting of rain, more wintery on higher ground. As the band passes, the precipitation will increasingly turn sleetier. How's that?
  20. I'd say a chance of snow for many across the midlands (if there's any precip) untill the early hours of tommorrow, say about 1 or 2am, which then may see any precip falling as rain for levels below 200m. (Although you never know, things may swing nicely in our favour...)
  21. Erm... the light showers appear to be strengthening again slightly. Goodness knows what will happen.
  22. I reckon a very light sprinkling over Birmingham is more likely at the moment, but stranger things have happened!
  23. Well, the showers are growing in area, but decreasing in intensity... usually a bad sign...? As much as I think it isn't, it's business time.
