  1. The radar says 'no' to me, but however, while it's lightened a tad, it's still coming down.
  2. Right, time for a precipitation track map. this is about the feature to the south east. The basics apply, red heaviest, blue lightest. Green somewhere in the middle.
  3. Hmm... that part blizzard/part snizzle thing happened again. No matter, it's (un)officially been snowing constantly here in Halesowen for 10 whole hours! Here's to the half a day mark now. (And hopefully another wave from the south!) Doesn't matter if not though, absolutely everything covered and the old car (offical snow measuring spot, settles there first) has almost half a foot and still rising, although I fear it may start to callapse off soon!
  4. I reckon that me and those in stourbridge and to the SouthWest of Brimingham may see light/moderate snow untill after midnight. I'm hoping that the Met Office's "Super-Extreme-Snow-Band" will clip us as is strides towards Wiltshire, going futher north than forecast.
  5. Just under 9 hours of constant snow now (albeit a heavy spell and then snizzle), and it's built a depth of a third of a foot near me (4 inches/over 10cm)! Although I've been about (on foot, no way of getting a car up my road) and the rest oh Halesowen appears to have had less, say about 2 inches. It just shows how localised things are. If this continues, I'm hoping to get to the magical half foot!
  6. It has been constantly snowing (or at least a few flakes falling) for 7 hours now. Started getting heavier, radar picking it up, I wonder how long this could last?
  7. Hmm, I'm not sure whether I shall call this heavy snow or not: Just in the last few minutes, from little-to-nothing falling out of the sky, there suddenly burst a storm of flakes. Not big, but there were so many I couldn't see as far as across my road. That doesn't usually happen even in proper heavy snow here... I wonder what caused that? But either way, all of this in Halesowen is moving Birmingham's way. Also it appears to have maxed out today, falling temps now. Air Temp: 0.6C Dew point: -0.4C It's still snowing quite well, and no thaw appears to be happening.
  8. Mostly covered here in Halesowen. A few inches, and the snow hasn't stopped since it started 4 hours ago. Although for the last 3 hours, it's hardly been anywhere near heavy. A very picturesque scene.
  9. Being pessimistic, it seems like we're almost bound to see at least see snow falling tommorrow, and it all looks a tad exiting around and to the west of the Birmingham area. I see the forum crashes when the West Midlands gets a good run!
  10. Hmm, this shows how marginal things were before... It's still raining here. I thought Halesowen was higher than Stourbridge.
  11. Hmm... only next door here and it seems to be getting heavier. The cars that I can see are all mostly covered now.
  12. It's now settling slightly on certain serfaces now in Halesowen, dewpoint slam dunked below 0C, and the front is slowing (Or at least I think it is. Looks like it's moving about as west now as north...)
  13. Hmm... I knew it wasn't right. 'Apparently' the dew point here has plummetted more than half a degree to 0.1C in less than 5 minutes... EDIT: Hm. Must have worked, because now the snow is solid, no more water mixed in. I wonder if I tamper with the thing I could make it go much lower...
  14. Just been out, Smethwick has dustings of snow all over the place and there was some pretty big flakes there. Back in Halesowen, I see wettish snow. Air Temp: 1.7C Dew Point: 0.7C (don't think this one's right )
  15. Yes, it has started to lightly rain here now. I reckon me and those near the SW of Birmingham may start to see snow at around 4:30pm. Only a hunch, mind...
  16. Here in West Halesowen it's... Air Temp: 2.6C Dew point: 0.5C Not much change from a few hours ago but they've both risen a fraction. Still, it's cold enough for it to dive down once it all kicks off.
  17. In case anyone's wondering... The MO have issued flash warnings for heavy snow the whole of the West Midlands and East Midlands (apart from lincolnshire).
  18. Right, I think the weather's lost the plot. I now have been forcast almost every possibility that can happen, there has just been the lightest 10 seconds of snow (not sleet, it all fell as flakes), and now i've lost all confidence in the lot. Air Temp: 2.4C Dew point: 0.4C God help our region.
  19. Pleased that the MO said that Birmingham managed a (very technical) white christmas yesterday. Warnings about Tuesday & Wednesday stand from them as well. Still, whatever will be, will be. Nothing I can say or do that would send me to the Isle of Wight where they're enjoying 11C. Or even in Aviemore, which records things like -7C in the middle of the day.
  20. Foggy all day so far in Halesowen, and looks to be much more. Got alot thicker recently, and very little snow has melted.
  21. Christmas Greetings from Halesowen! Just had a brief light shower of sleet. Not done anything though, still got the few cms of snow covering.
