It was so hot last night i had to take a hot water bottle to bed. That doesnt happen often in the summer.
(had to leave the air con on all night, so was getting a bit chilly )
Hotter this morning than it was yesterday, im guessing 40, maybee even 41 will be reached today.

Well it's location dependant. Diss may be cooler than SE london where it is 39 in the shade. personally i would prefer the record is not broken for all sorts of reasons. but mainly medical ones as i have not long come back from my local shops where i had to do cpr on an unfortunate person suffering from the heat
the shop next door is a chemist; no defibrillator, along the road; a GP surgery; no defibrillator
glad my 1st aid skills have just, possibly, saved a life
I was talking about official temperatures, see here:
Live Weather Top Twenty - Highs and Lows - Netweather.tv
WWW.NETWEATHER.TV37.1 now.
Im no fan of the heat btw.
But well done for saving someones life

Well, cant see anywhere even reaching the record today. Max temp is 36.3 at heathrow. And nearly 3pm.

Standing in the middle of an open field earlier in strongest gusts, was pretty strong, 65mph at a guess. Not strong enough to hold me up leaning into it.
Imby not that big a deal. Over 80 would have been more exciting. Should have gone to the iow for the day

122mph isle of whight apparently.
Id guess 50-60 here so far

Take care michael. You were my favourite forecaster whilst i was growing up. I will miss seeing you on netweather. I cant believe its been 15 years.
Thank you.

Amazing how every easterly develops a dry zone south of Norwich and north of Ipswich. Exactly the same as 2010, convection everywhere except this zone. Its like this literally every time.

Hasn't stopped snowing here now since 6am yesterday morning. Always light occasionally moderate. Had a few big flakes earlier, but always in between bands. Total of 5" at a guess, large snowdrifts, and blocked roads everywhere, accept the main ones which have been cleared now. did pretty well in the end, so can't complain (that's a first ha! )
Picture of the road I normally go to work down: (doesn't give you much of an idea as poor quality, but it was up to my waist)

Well, I'd say that's about it then. Main front is breaking up, dry zone north of front looks to stay dry other than a few snow flurries. Carrying on in the far south east for a while I expect for the lucky ones.

Well got about an inch or so, and I'm in the amber zone! Only about 5" short of predictions. But I guess there is "more to come". Ha ha!!

Anyway promise going forward “perhaps “?!?.. some decent echos out in the North Sea now.. and that rotate locale northerly in upper most france.. and the vents guidance =iso chart.. would suggest we are now entering a more easterly component... as the hrs tick away =recharge in ppn >and more penetration inland of that sequence... needs eyeing
Where are you seeing these echos in the north sea? All I see is a decaying front with breaking up ppn.
-
So its been sitting literally 2 miles to the east of me all day, and in the last half hour it pushed in, and now the front is breaking up! Wtf! So that's it then at a guess.
Amazing how much difference a couple of miles makes. Thick snow on the a140 just south of diss.

It runs from Debenham through to Woodbridge following the river Deben. I’m near Framlingham
Looks like your in a good spot there! Should imagine its getting quite deep by now?
-
The heavy ppn has stopped literally 1 mile to the east of me. Jeez. The stuff in the north sea looks to be breaking up. If I don't get any from the main band, I'm not expecting anything from showers.

Time for people to invest in some air con.. I bought one years ago, still runs fine. Cost me £60 second hand, worth £600. - yes a good deal. And yes elec is expensive atm, but most people are happy to spend £50 or more a month on sky and netflix etc. Just buy an air con machine, its lovely.
