  1. Icequeen-- the road going up the hill around the back of sketty primary school is now starting to white over.

Anymore significant snow showers from now will make that road impassable in your average vehicle.

It was touch and go earlier, but with a few vehicles , it managed to slush up and clear a bit, however now its really quiet so by the time the mornig traffic gets going it will be a slide all the way down but you wont get back up.

OMG!!!! My lampost has just started whispering to me !!!!!! Hope it starts shouting

  2. My exam is at half 9 tomorrow I'm not going to make it i don't think i may aswell leave now still wouldnt get there in these drifts. We'll she wat tomorrow morning holds now. Heavier snow here now. And the morriston thing? My mothers fiance works in the DVLA and he said coming back through moriston there was a thick covering of snow at around 4 o clock today?

Yep then someone turned on the snow shield ahhhhh

  3. Thats quite hard to comprehend, as it is fairly lashing it down here, and the radar shows it all over really??

How high up are you there??

I guess im no more than 3 miles as the crow flies ?????

I am up on the graig over loooking the enterprise zone, not that high I imagine don't know asl hight but usually get snow if it's around humph:(

  4. Ice queen, where are you in swansea??

Its already heavy here (near sketty primary school), and for the next hour maybe the radar is showing increasing precipitation, rather like earlier on about 7pm.

I think this will white out the roads good and proper up here, and at this time of night with hardly anyone using the roads it could well accumulate,no sign of a gritter at all, but not sure how low this will go.

Think it may well be blizzards shortly.

Dont you just love the atlantic systems.drinks.gif

I live in morriston. I have been Reading your post and sulking patchy dusting here. Was really bad before nightfall but since nothing to speak of

  5. The radar is showing intensyfying stuff coming our way folks, this is making up for all the times you had to watch Basing bloody stoke, and all that skiing in Aviemore,..........ARE YOU WATCHING AVIEMORE !!

This isnt normal snow, this isnt Marks and Spencers snow, this is top of the range drifting at all levels, deep deep continous snow.

We were over due this, so we may aswell gloat whilst we have the chance.

Lamposts are having a party out there, and the drink is still in full flow, (moderate, getting heavy, increasing)

Is it going to hit Swansea hard? I still live in hope!!!

  6. What are the chances of a snow day in Swansea tomorrow? For me it started great horizontal snow etc etc for about an hour and a half then snizzle/ sleet/ ice grains :whistling: I was so full of hope. But then I hear of such contrasts over the city my kids are in morriston comp which is higher than me and I know teachers have to travel, so I don't really know what will happen tomorrow. Feel so deflated now was soooo good earlier. Now sloppy slippy slush

  7. Snowed heavier earlier today give a covering in places. Now here in Morriston, Swansea it has turned back to rain/sleet although im sure its snow on the higher ground around the area.

Dont see much changing really, front is stronger on its eastern side looking at the radar- Great for SE Wales- NAE was good on picking up on that i must say.

Still snow here in morriston though difficult to see unless out in it

  8. Its very good, it means the system is pulling large amounts of new power from the ocean and its forcing it high into atmosphere. If you watch the percep on the radar you will see it hits a invisible line and suddenly intesifies. Which has just started to happen on the south wales coast, and further down in the channel.

So when is the thunder storm set to hit us?
