  1. 10011018_0906.gif

As I posted last night I thought that things would move more north than was being forecast when people were getting downbeat last night!whistling.gif The met did it earlier in the week and it looks as we near tomorrow they,ve done it again? We should all see some moderate snow tomorrow and looks like it will continue for a few days clap.gif

  2. Thanks for that Jukebox, quite a conflict then because the METO output suggests a dry and sunny day for Sunday for here, whereas if the NAE model were to come off then we would at the very least see the cloud from the front ?

The meto just want that to happen as they,ve nicked all our grit for down south and if they try and convince us we wont get any snow then they'll think they can nick the rest tomorrowwhistling.gif Seriously if the NAE charts verify then I think there will just be light snow showers in the day then maybe more prolonged heavier stuff during the night If you notice the track of the wind direction there is plenty of precip for it to push through and I think that tomorrow it will be even further north as it did during the last spell when the snow was progged for the south east and the Manchester area and south southern central areas nicked it all at the last minute..

  3. Why so negative all the time?

There are oppurtunities over the next few days. Sunday will bring the risk of snow particularly in the evening and during Monday. A breakdown isnt secured yet. Enjoy the ride but chin up becuase so many comments seem to make ot 'over' all the time.

GFS 18Z seems to be bringing Precip further North which is good for us! Lets hope it stays that way.

As Blizzards says its all still to play for!!!!! Latest NAE shows precip further north... I really dont know why people are so negative all the time??? I posted earlier about things changing as they did in the snow event earlier in the week. Theres still lots that can change its a complicated setup and we should be prepared for last minute switchrounds..

  4. One thing to bear in mind is that the last snowy spell was forecast with the heaviest precip for the S/E but about 24 houres before hand the models shifted everything further north and west and the almost orgasmic frenzy that had been stirred up in the S/E thread became a suicidal affairwhistling.gif I dont think we can get to downbeat about Sundays event until at least 6 to 12 hours before it happens and hopefully there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth from the S/E threadblum.gif

  5. Storms in the summer don`t bother me, it`s only ppn through the winter that keeps me interested.whistling.gif

Only last night my wife had a slight, shall we say brief, FULL ON PADDY over my radar viewing!!yahoo.gif

Tonight, with no snow on the horizon she has left me to chat and gone to bed early!!clap.gif

And the Fraggle bit made me p*** myself!!

Theres no other way to describe it lol. looking out the window being careful not to get to close as to steam the glass up or the missus whinges again when you wipe a gap to see through. The amount of times I,ve been told"you can clean them f****** windows tomorrow lol. What a strange sight we must be to the outside world as they walk by seing us licking the window whilst squinting to see the tiniest hint of a snow flake in the light of the nearest lamppostwhistling.gif I think the new term for looking at lampposts should be called Fraggling drinks.gif

  6. If the showers hold together (they are starting to decay somewhat now) then we could get another cm or two. We will almost certainly get a top up over the weekend though! My school is open tomorrow, they claim to have cleared and gritted all the paths now, will have to see how true that is though!

Yeah that charts for tomorrow so should top the side roads up!!! One thing I noticed today is that Coleshill probably have near on twice as much snow as us Nick and around Lichfield there only seemed a few cm at best cc_confused.gif I just hope that this weekend we all get a good dumping and I dare say that the majority of us will have our faces pressed up the window looking at the street lights like some kind of strange fraggles lol. My missus at our old house used to just tell me to sit down when I kept looking out the window so I found myself making up all sorts of excuses to nip upstairs to gawp out the window lol. There was a few occasions when I even did the washing up so I could look out the window without her whinging pardon.gif I,m 20 times worse in the summer when it comes to storms though always on the net looking at the radars and popping outside listening for distant rumbles lol. I need to get out morewhistling.gif

  7. How the bloody hell do they know that?? It really makes me mad when they say ill thought out, flippant comments like that.

There can be NO way to ever back up that sort of comment!! nonono.gif

People like us understand this but joe public who gets brainwashed by the G/W drivvle and potters round in his Toyota Prius needs to be reassured by the ecoenvironmentalists that all severe weather is caused by us waming the planet up as they need muppetts like these to further there Bull sh**e campaign. I bet you any money that when we get the eventual thaw and people get flooded they'll start banging the G/W drum even louder grrrwallbash.gif

  8. unblievable lollazy.gif some bloke on the bbc news channel just said that if it was,nt for global warming then this cold spell would have been much more severe. Why o why do they have to try and brainwash the public with their utter bullsh*t that global warming is the be all and end all ???? I wish they,d just come out and say "look we need some more money to waste on hairbrained ideas so we are gonna make you all pay extra tax" rather than ram all this G/W down our throatsmad.gif rant mode (OFF) crazy.gif

  9. Do you know if Norton is open tomorrow mate? I'm off again laugh.gif

I won't be as jealous as I was a few weeks ago, at least we have got a decent amount of snow. Not as much as some jammy buggers have got but it is better than nowt!

Just spoke to my old dear and she said that only the head master can make that callmega_shok.gif They have to phone him in the morning and he decides(if it were me I,d stay in bed lol) my weather station says -4.9 and my cheapo one says -4.7 so as you mentioned if the snow freezes solid which I,d guess it will then they will probably close it due to H&S reasons .nea.gif

  10. We,ve got maybe 2" in Norton Canes and its been snowing again for the last 10 minutes or soclap.gif I mentioned earlier that the radars were crap and there might be a few more surprises tonight and I still stand by that. even though the rainfall radars are showing the precip further south it looks like they are out by quite a bit.

  11. I have a horrible feeling that it will stall literally a few miles south of us. I keep running the radar loop over and over and over again, it is going to be a real struggle just to get the edge of this...

I dont know I,m undecided Nick.. But one thing to note is that the radars have been crap all day and with the sat images they give you a better idea of where the wraparound is heading and it looks on that sat loop as if it will get further north?? Whether it will bring much precip with it I,m not sure but as the rainfall radars have been crap and with all the chopping and changing of the models over the last 24 hours I would,nt rule out a few more surprises yet!!

  12. If you run this................................

    http://www.sat24.com/image.ashx?country=eu&type=slide&index=8&sat=

To my untrained eyes that cloud thats moving up from the south looks like it will get quite a bit further north than some might expect before stalling and sinking away?? On its current track it looks like it could cover a good part of the Midlands before sinking.................?? Any thoughts peeps??????cc_confused.gif

  13. check out my earlier post Andy...this prcip has developed over the last hour..Its light at best, but it doesnt seem to be going anywhere in a hurry...Certainly a dusting in the offing........On a slight tangent, dont ask me how, but I've got this strange feeling that something is going to happen north of Brum...The forecasts today seem out, mother nature is not playing ball...The snow band to the north is circulating around a new LP centred salops/staffs, and it wouldnt surprise me to see precip circulate and then push up from the SW...A strange theory, but then, these are strange times (cue ominous silence)...or am I drinking too much Bicardi again? whistling.gif

Hi AJ I was just thinking something similar to the point you made above but I think that the majority of heavy snow will skirt around this "new low" into Wales before cutting back across the country ,around the south Wales area, and into the south west region but I cant see enough flow from the sw at the moment to push the snow up the country as far as us?? I have a feeling(and I hope I,m wrong) that all we will see in the mids is light to moderate snow for a while maybe the odd heavier burst but I cant see the snow being as widespread as forecast??? Any thoughts ???

  14. Oh and another thing. My school haven't bothered to grit any paths at all! Considering the caretakers have had all Christmas to do something it is very poor. The car park is an ice rink, would put money on someone having a nasty accident today.

You wanna get yourself upto Norton High School then mate as I was out gritting with the caretakers at 5 o clock this morning!!acute.gif Anyway on topic some could do ok if this chart verifies ???

    10010518_0412.gif

  15. mine does this all the time car is 4 yrs old .... anyone know how to stop this??? how to get rid of it

    thanks

Place some silica gel pouches round the interior of the car and it will absorb the moisture and should stop the inside of the car freezing as it absorbs the moisturegood.gif I,m a courier for a living and got a big bag of it from a customer and it stops the inside of my van freezing so I can get on my travels in a morning quicker than the rest of the lads lol. They are still normally scraping their windows and I,m halfway down the A38clap.gif I wont give my secret away to them though cause I like mocking them all in a morning as I drive past rofl.gif

  16. No problem, as azores92 said your analysis was pretty much spot on.

Right click the image you want, click "properties" and there should be a hyperlink that you can copy in the box that comes up.

Thanks again Nick I,ll be picking yours and Azores brains over the coming weeks to make sure I am doing it right if thats ok with you both???help.gifgood.gif

  17. pretty much spot on there biggrin.gif it shows a fairly slack airflow, so the showers wont be very widespread

Thanks Azores yahoo.gif I always sort of had an inkling as to reading them but to start posting on a weather site without being 100% sure of your interpretations has always been intimidating for me as a lot of people seem to interpret them in differrent ways to suit themselves rather than as a general interpretation for the whole country and I dont wanna be shot to pieces for reading them as they are lol. Just another quick one if I may... Do you then use the precipatation charts to build a bigger picture of the upcoming weather events or are these not much use??? I understand that there are other charts aswell and I,m going to try to get my head round these in the coming days. cheers againgood.gif
