the forecasting even 2 hours in advance has been very poor recently. yesterday the forecast was rain all day for today and now they are saying it will turn sunny later on today.

the sun has burst through here in cardiff and another pleasantly warm day.
not sure why i'm reading everywhere about another rubbish summer. so far we've had decent weekends and whilst not being boiling hot we've had much better weather so far than the previous 5 or 6 ones.
i've even seen someone saying they haven't turned their heating off yet. they must have a cold body.

five consecutive pleasant days. 2 rubbish days and then another couple of pleasant days over the weekend. I can take that.

Last rain here Feb 13th when one inch fell, an absolute drought now as 15 dry days.
thats a new definition for a drought isn't it?
no-one is seriously suggesting we are short of water currently are they? Or are they?

i'd imagine andymusic is getting more offers from the met office as we speak after predicting this latest blizzard?
this is not nasty just would like andy to be a little less enthusiastic and claim that he knows more than the professionals.
we all get things wrong and we all get them right but to claim that you know better is a bit rum.
here's hoping to a final hurrah for winter in the next month or so.

well i've just been out to get my supplies. I've spent my whole months budget on food as Andymusic said February 6th is going to be the big day for snow. I've told work i won't be coming in. I hope the £700 i have spent today won't be wasted.
Afterall Andy is going to work for the met office and knows EVERYTHING about the weather.

I've actually been in touch with the Met Office in the last two days - and today they are wanting me to contact their HR dept - about the possibility of me being taken on as a met office adviser - would you believe - now there's a thing!

I understand Derek had to apologise for the mess they made yesterday or wednesday of the forecast - that's quite a few times they've had to do that over the years - and I know that snow is hard to predict - where it falls and how much and whether it'll be snow/sleet/rain etc etc - but I can do it - so why can't they?

any danger of the Swansea vs Chelsea game being off as i've looked everywhere and no mention of snow risk.

Oh well here's the bad news - the weekend - two blizzards - friday night into saturday and saturday night into sunday - will increase totals dramatically again - the milder temps that were have been pushed back - and I can see them being pushed back further - till they don't happen at all - right then - window of opportunity to get out to get supplies - I'd say thursday - into friday - get more supplies if you can get out - cause you're gonna need them come the weekend - this weather is very very very scary!
scaremongering buffoon. once he was right about the weather, all the other time he ramps a new ice age every other week in winter. its embarrassing. i'd suggest people listen to far more respected and sane members of this board rather than 'andy, look how wacky i am' music.

heaviest its been here at 52 foot above sea level for the last 5 days. it actually feels colder and more penetrating than the initial snowfalls of 2010 but without the amounts. Barely a cm in 2 hours. not complaining though its great stuff.

can someone make it a sticky about ground too wet and snow not being able to stick, even though that isn't true?

we've always had lots of rain. this year has been a good one for it but not as bad as you would lead us to believe.
i'm guessing your wish list when you go on holiday isn't 'i'll find the wettest place on the planet'.
we have weather here that you can't affected. you can affect many things in life but weather is one thing you have to put up with, whatever it is. in fact its probably the only thing you cannot affect.

if you don't understand why the uk gets the weather we do then weather isn't the subject for you.
we don't get half the rain as many countries by the way. we get a lot of course, but we're an island stuck off the atlantic which automatically attracts the weather we get, just like other countries.
you can't change the weather we get, embrace it or end up going mad.......your choice.

i've read things like horror shows.
the weather is the weather, we have zero impact on it. the way people on the mod threads go on is as if they can affect it. they can't.
