getting heavier here now after a half hour lull.
interestingly there are some lads outside my house raiding a car. For snow. To make a wall mural.

a lot heavier now in cardiff. white over. its wonderfull.

white over on the roads and everywhere at sea level in cardiff. windy, cold, snowing. bootifull

work in llanishen and it was white over. a few hundred or so feet lower in adamsdamits very wet snow. The temperature is falling so hopefully it'll turn to sticky type snow soon.

the forecast has changed on the bbc 24 from grey to snow tomorrow.

Would I be way off the mark in thinking that this country's government are so stupid, that they never invisaged anything like this in terms of cold weather occuring what with these money grabbing scientists banging on about 'Global Warming' wanting to be funded for there research, and in that, they (The Gov) are clouded in there judgement budget wise for dealing with countrywide disturbance/emergencies etc?
I think they must be wondering what all the Global Warming fuss is all about, this is sure enough evidance to prove otherwise!
its once in a thirty year event. Very hard to plan for. Anyway, people are coping and getting on with it. Don't believe the hype.

anyway its all gone quiet on the forecasting front. Earlier in the day it was nailed on armageddon. Now barely a peep. There must be some forecasters in wales that can give us the latest view for this weekend and early next week?

no i'm saying mine was in a totally inappropriate place. I put it on the only wall that is in the shade in my garden, infortunately ivy has grown over it and must be keeping it insulated. So i've moved it.

Its going to beat last night...-13c now.
i just moved my thermometor from a position i didn't think could be telling the right temp. It dropped from -1.8 to -5 in 5 minutes. Must find a suitable place for it.

Can't say as I see a 'problem' either, a few doom and gloom merchants around as usual, but I'm just going to enjoy what I've got. :lol:
It'll go one day, but most of us have had some fun times from the current cold spell. No complaints from me (although a foot of snow would have been nice and could yet happen). :lol:
and remember for a lot of people they'll welcome an end when it comes. Must be hell if you are old or disabled.
Me i love it. Hope we get some more Sunday. It even showed on Saturday on the BBC news, but we know they tell beards.

terrible forecast! only concern was for the SE of Wales.
there is shedloads of snow in mid wales and not even a mention of it. v poor.

For Tuesday's front, I have already made predictions earlier in thread.
After that Very cold with chance of snow later Tuesday and Wednesday, possibly dry then before another chance of snow towards Weekend. Very Cold with Severe overnight frosts.
There are no fronts trying to push up from the South West. Fronts are coming from the North initially then perhaps from the South East.

Can someone please explain what the charts are showing later on the week. Am I correct in assuming a front from SW is trying to push up but it looks like this brings warmer air with it or what.
Can I have it in semi layman terms, and what the chances are
thanks guysit would be great if people put up their predictions for the weather, ie, it will snow tomorrow, or it will rain tomorrow over most of wales.
instead there are colourfull pictures that mean little unless you've spent a lot of time researching them and even then i'm guessing nobody really understands them as much as they make out.

No thats as far north as the front gets waiting for the first serious snowfall of the winter coming from the north tuesday night, another front reaches us wednesday morning bitter cold -1 top temp.
the bbc weather previously showed snow all over the uk. Just now it showed a bit of snow in the south west and north east.
Someone should ban them from forecasting more than an hour ahead.

I love reading these forums, people seem to think if temps are close to zero or below snow is due. Thats not always the case.
Only once in my lifetime have I witnessed freezing rain, its liquid until it hits something solid and immediatly frezzes. Now thats nasty stuff.
It turned my windscreen into thick ice in secounds, and its ice everywhere. So remember folks zero temps dont gurantee snow.
but what i don't understand is that it can snow when its 8 degrees, i've seen it. Its mental.

walk. i'm ditching the bike today but will walk 4 miles to work. Sure you can manage the same for an exam.
