  1. Yes Blizzards, i think some of the ramping is a little premature to be honest. This one isn't in the bag yet, especially if you concider that the GFS has been modeling the Scandi high between 5 and 12 mb's lower today than it was at the same point yesterday... Ned
  2. --> QUOTE(Paul B @ 3 Feb 2007, 10:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi TEITS, nice to see you are still here!.... I also gather this Scandinavian High was not even shown on the models a couple of days ago. It was on the JMA Paul
  3. Enjoying this 18z very much so far. What a great shape to the scandi high at 132 eh?
  4. Just one other point before i go off to cook tea with my three year old. With all this talk of breakdown and frontal snow are we not forgetting that there is going to be quiyte a cold tuesday with the 'risk' of snow showers down north sea facing coasts and hills! Ned
  5. Yes MattyM, I like the look of the ECM a lot tonight. Especially at 144h where we have a channel low and still some good cold air to the north east. I start to get the feeling that some of the models are starting to show the first shortwave sliding further south. Lets hope the next is to follow
  6. Hi Dave, Yes the Scandi block is even more robust on this run too. Could be interesting... Ned
  7. Hope this is the correct place to put this, but i just found a great webcam of Drumochter pass on a travell Scotland site. http://www.trafficscotland.org/views.asp?m...ralscotland.gif Lots more 'Snow Tracking' tools on here
  8. Cyclegenisys - A fair weathered gang of friends using their love of storms and bikes to carry them all the way to their next big gig. An aging rock concert hosted by a very flatulant Phil Collins
  9. Just seen a big old flash of Lightning to the W/NW of London Long way off.... Anyone over that way confirm? Ned
  10. Oh you guys.... The power of the SACRA is strong this year. Didn't your MZ'T collegues teach you anything? When the forces of winter decend, they will decend from a great place, a place where no front is occluded, a place where no jet (i) is flat, a place where no beast comes - without fries and ketchup Be warned B)
  11. This mornings snow turned to rain for a couple of hours but has now turned back to wet snow. Radar seems to show the ppn pepping up a bit too. Could be the back edge?
  12. My little brother reported Thundersnow in Tomintoul this afternoon!
  13. Yes, I was just reading that article on the train. It has some very vague and unscientific references to the NAO too, saying that it “happened in 1963” and when the “azores pressure dips Britain catches a blast of bitterly cold air” quite amusing really but it suggests that even the journalist doesn’t quite have a handle on the NAO
