  1. Morning folks! Driving to the in-laws in coventry within the hour or so, so i guess i'll be an honorary West Midlands snow spotter for a few days Wondered if there were any reports of snow en route from South Yorks to Cov atm. ? Good luck to all for a good pasting later on Ned PS - quite like this free radar for snow spotting http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
  2. Looks like the ECM is still keen on its previous idea of dropping a trough down into scandi/north sea around 168 bringing in a northwesterly and hopefully northeasterly later on
  3. So have we got a serious chance of further snow tonight? Soz, been out and about so not had time to check!
  4. Rugby League man eh? Well done! Off to feed the ducks up on Keighley moor soon so i'll see if i can find any more big drifts!
  5. Yup, no problem mate! They are only mobile phone pics so the quality aint too good. Send me the link! I could send you the files if you wanted. There's a few more too.
  6. Maybe your thermometer is upside down Few snaps from my trip to take my son to nursery in Oxenhope this morning. Someone decided to park their 4x4 on a tree in the blizzard last night. Goes to show that it’s not what you drive but how you drive it as my golf did fine
  7. Get the loop going on here http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/latest_uk_ir.html and you can see it working it's way south night! Ha ha, just seen too that you joined Netweather the day after i did! We been waitin for this winter my friend
  8. The way things are working then, yes, i wouldn't be suprised... Check out the radar and the sats, things are heading south. We have intermittent mod snow showers now!
  9. WOW, just had a great snowstorm... Not put down that much (maybe one to two inch) but its blowing it about big style... Looking at the radar the shower seemed to move from NE to SW - against the wind, suspect it were on the sheer point of this trough moving south. Which looks to be still to the north of us. HAPPY DAYS.... Look out south Yorks ! EDIT - look on here just south of Keighley http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ you can still see the wind sheer!
  10. Looks like the world famous Blackpool snow streamer has set up - slap bang over my house
  11. Looks like the 06 gfs is falling in line with the Euro's then. Not quite all the way yet but a massive step in the right direction in my book. TBH i can see the slight warm up getting squeezed from here on in
  12. There seems to be a more organised trough swinging down the west atm. Looks to be just bocing south into ulster and Dumfries and Galloway. Lets see if we get anything from it shall we ?
  13. A similar thing happened at Bingley yesterday morning. The temp was rising from about -2.7 to -2.3 then at ten o'clock it went back down to below -3
  14. Showers look to be packing in now around Sunderland/Middlesbrough. Wonder if they'll make it inland much....
  15. This might have the measure of it then as it's only showing snow over the moors of Westmorland locally atm.
  16. I suppose another desirable scenario would be for the low pressure system to sink far enough south west for us to tap into some nice frigid air being ejected from the forming Scandi surface HP…(à la NOGAPS nearly)
  17. Hello to all the Yorkshire snow watchers out there Nice freebie link! Thanks 10123. I suppose we will start to see the showers turning to snow by about midnight then, On higher ground at least... Any other thoughts on this?
  18. More elongated trough in the Atlantic on the ECM168, better prospects for a protracted cold spell?
  19. I agree about the parallel. Looks remarkably like the ECM at 240h too. Could we really be seeing the firming up of a sustained cold pattern?
  20. Tiempo-neto i think they are called Sorry..... Just thought we needed some humour tonight mods....
  21. I know what you mean, it's just like being cheated on by your partner I have (in a non scientific way) noticed however, that over the last few days the 00ECM has CONCISTENTLY been bucking the trend with some poor output for coldies compared with the other overnighters only to be back on board with it's 12z output. I'm certain a trawl through recent ECM output would demonstrate this. Maybe it's the data fed in or just the econimy 7 they are running it on, but it's there!
