  1. All depends on how your feed is fed. It's quite possible for a power cut to only affect you and next door is fine - depends on how many phases are knocked out. Keep an eye on http://www.ukpowernetworks.co.uk/internet/en/power-cuts/ We were all planning on after work drinks from lunch time on Christmas Eve... last year we cancelled it because of the snow, this year because of the wind?
  2. Tornado/hail/storm watchfor most of the UK - http://www.torro.org.uk/site/forecast.php
  3. Tornado watch for most of England, Wales and half of Ireland - http://www.torro.org.uk/site/forecast.php
  4. Of course they have that little matrix table of likeliness vs impact don't they, I'm being a bit thick in my hangover stupor today
  5. Only yellow ones though - I'd have though 70MPH+ would be amber. Do the Met Office publish any 'rules' on how they define their warning levels?
  6. Yes exactly - if the BBC are warning on the MetOffice's data, then the MetOffice will surely put out their own warnings soon.
  7. Well the BBC are now saying it's gonna be bad as Coast mentions so the Met Office will surely follow soon.
  8. What's up with the top 20 on here - http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=current;type=maxg ?
  9. Can't hear a thing with this new double glazing but my weather station has just reported 27MPH in my garden which is near record so it must be bad out there as it's a bit sheltered!
  10. Yeah so my parents and brother are flying Dublin to Southend tomorrow and back on Monday... http://www.xcweather.co.uk/forecast/dublin err maybe they're not!
  11. Er found last train home but at calm as anything and clear as a bell. Sure this wasnt what I told everyone what would happen earlier?! Oh Just noticed the time and realised I'm a bit late! Oops hope it wasn't want too bad earlier
  12. Well, Christmas is cancelled for us then. My parents fly in Dublin to Southend on a PROP plane on Saturday, my brother the same flight on Monday. They all fly back 27th Dec and me and the Mrs get a ferry to Rosslare Ireland on the 30th. Not much of that is going to happen! Just me the Mrs and the cat then...
  13. Great, just as I stagger my way home from work's Christmas party then!
  14. Damn you guys I promised I'd stay out of that thread for the benefit of my mind... off I go to see what the fuss is And back! Ahh, nothing really to get excited about.
  15. Does the snowflake have to touch the ground? If one falls, I don't think it'll ever reach the floor with all the wind I've got an Irish sea crossing on the 30th - hope that's not too bad!
