I know it's a week away, but forecast for Weds looks horrible - worse than tomorrow night!
-
I already have ice on the car parked on the drive outside. Will be slippy on the roads tomorrow
It's best part of 6'C here!

Essex Weather Centre â€@EssexWeather
Significant weather event for Essex tomorrow night. Heavy rainfall (10-15mm) accompanied with winds gusting up to 55mph.
-
I still seem to get SouthEastern's email alerts for some reason:
Severe weather is forecast this Friday evening (31 January) with high winds and more heavy rain predicted for the south east. The safety of our passengers is our highest priority and with the risk of trees falling onto railway lines, flooding and landslips, Network Rail has put in place a 40 mph speed restriction across parts of the Southeastern network. This will take effect from 8pm Friday night until the close of service. We will work hard to provide the best possible service, however because of the speed restrictions trains will run slower than usual and some will be delayed or cancelled at short notice. Services on Saturday may also be affected. Please allow additional time for your journey and check live running information from the Southeastern website before you travel. -
Already 8mm rain today

Bit surprised to see that some posts have been deleted on this thread, I would have thought that we are not bad at self moderating and the ebb and flow, and range, on here is one of the things that makes it such a joy.
In case I'm wrong...
It's raining
AS
Yeah a couple weeks back for example there was not much weather talk at all in the SE thread for a couple days!
(Still raining here...10mm so far today)

How many fronts can we have over the British Isles at once? Looks like snakes and ladders!

Haha mild sleet
I never thought getting a 4x4 a couple months back would be good for driving through floods - I hoped it would be good for snow! I even watched some videos of crazy Russians playing with their cars in the snow to see if it would be any good before buying it!

The reason I asked about rain and tectonic plates, I may be wrong, I'll see what Yamkin says about it, but we had a 6.1 earthquake centered on Great Yarmouth in 1931, the biggest ever in the UK, I wondered what weather conditions led to that and if flooding was involved. And if we could have another earthquake here.
There were a couple earthquakes directly South of London today, not very far away http://www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/Map/zoom.php?key=75&typ=euro#2

Been a miserable day, quite like my mood (couldn't face work today with a fever, headache and sore throat) it's been around 5'C all day and rain on and off all day. Just went out so seeif the cat's collar was in the garden as he's lost it (along with the £50 tracker I bought to see where he goes) and checked the grass and in most places it's still a layer of water over the mud and the grass tops poking through.
Been on the edge of the green and blur on the radar all day, but most definitely rain here, nothing whiter.

Radar has sleet/snow/rain falling overhead. There is nothing falling from the sky at the moment

I've got a Lemsip
Rain's stopped (for now) 13mm so far today. Probably more before the day's out.
-
Rain seems to have got stuck over us here.... still piddling down. 8mm in the last 45 mins
-
Chucking it down at the moment with big blobs of rain. 5.5'C and 5mm of rain in the last 20 mins... shame it's not 5' colder

The only daisies in my garden would have to be daffodil height to reach above the mud/water level. I've not fed any birds this "winter" because I need wellies to walk on the grass - you sink in about 2 inches under water when treading on what looks like nice grass.
-
I don't trust that radar any more - only had a bit of drizzle and that's it here in the City.
-
Sky's going very dark from the West now in the City
-
The bright reds have disappeared from radar now though - it's like the M25 is a big wall sucking life from it
And 5 mins later they're back!
-
Anyone else having radar problems again? The 13:15-13:25 images are rather wetter than they should be!
Big blob of rain coming down the M4 at the moment almost at the M25.
-
Not even still a frost here this morning. Looks like maybe a little bit of sleet incoming shortly but nothing to get excited about.
-
Frost started forming on cars here.
The streetlights have turned off for the first time at about 5 to midnight. From the front of my house I can see 4 street lights but only one street light has been set to turn off. But looking out the back it's total darkness - eerie like a powercut My CCTV night vision is really struggling!
-
Means the feel like temp.
Yeah I know but how does it work it out? Is there a standard formula?
Indeed it does - I wonder if it'll make it to here? It's falling as sleet already
