  1. And in the summer we could go the other way and bring the outsiders back in lol
  2. Very new to all of this but learning quickly I think,Obviously lots more to it but have just played the 12z GFS through for coming week and am I right in saying it shows a battle of battles with precipitation type(rain, sleet, snow)as East pushes West then West fights back and vice versa.Would just like to know if I am starting to get the hang of my 1st step... GFS. Thanks
  3. Who fancies going in with a new business venture with me?, We could buy some 4x4's and nip Dorset folk across every neighbouring county on snow viewing tours!
  4. Country file just begun, get ready to watch forecastor conducting most UNENVIABLE job in the world!
  5. Country file just begun, get ready to watch forecastor conducting most UNENVIABLE job in the world!
  6. Completely agree, let's start a No snow Dorset support group!!!!!
  7. I think I need councilling,It's blatantly obvious the current weather conditions are far too complex for ANYONE to properly predict along with the charts etc so I should just give up for a while and forget this forum but I can't aghhhhhhhhhhh
  8. Just for information as I live on the extreme South Coast of Dorset, temperature through the whole day has hovered around 1.8-1.9 deg,an area where normally temperatures would rise more quickly than others.
  9. We are however winning one of the cold winter contests at the moment apart from lack of snow, A BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE PLEASE FOR THE COUNTY WITH THE MOST GRIT STILL!!
  10. Need some so I can't get to work tomorrow which incidentally is on a golf course very very close to you
  11. I've got a plan, can we start a new forum called "Dorset Only" forum so that we never have to keep hearing about all the snow in every other city, town, village and County that gets snow except us
  12. Agreed, what does annoy me a little is that the BBC forecast this morning does not give any comments or explanations as to where all the snow has gone unlike last night,at least most of us on here have a slight/deep understanding of how all this comes about but for Joe public it yet again strikes a nail in the weather forecasting coffin.
  13. Same here just East of you S4,GFS paints a very depressing picture from now on,looks as though the warm air will win ahead of time. Big difference from last night.
  14. It's times like this when you would just hate to be a weather forecastor, Just goes to show how difficult and complicated it is and when it all goes horribly wrong they have to sit there and watch the flack come in,not the job for me no way!
  15. Mmmm could be interesting and busy on here today, the London & SE lot on the forum aren't happy!!! by the looks of things.
  16. Morning all, just got up,looked outside anddddddddddd oh just about make out about 20 snowflakes on my car!,looked at NW radar expecting to see a blanket of constant pink across south andddddddd oh where is it,what we had a half 5 has all moved west with very little showing to the SE,what's gone wrong?
  17. I saw it at exactly 2235 updated at 2130,odd exactly the same one definately
  18. Yipee here we go again, I am sure the met office had an advisory out for Monday as well for us ref snow, where's it gone ,no warnings or advisories for the whole of the south now.
  19. A query please,if you turn the NW radar to rainfall change scale to 'new' i.e easier to see prec in yellows/reds etc would this not give a better idea of what's really falling, obviously knowing it's falling as snow but easier to relate amounts etc.Is this worthwhile or am I just being a complete lemon?
  20. Evening all are we still playing snow chase? middle of last week all eyes were on saturday through Sunday for loads snow, then it went to Monday now there's talk of big snow for us midweek.NW radar showing light snow since about 1830 on the I of W but not moving anywhere, I'm getting puffed out chasing this snow
  21. Snowkissed we seem from all accounts to be going into a classic completely unknown situation with regards to the snow during the coming days, from what I have been reading on the GFS discussion forum there are quite a few factors involved, one thing I am sure there will be snow but how much, where and exactly when but late tomorrow onwards for us is highly likely
  22. He's obviously broadcasting from the Beeb centre in London, deep down they are the same as us just keeping his eyes glued with anticipation on his homeland lol
  23. morning all, have just watched the BBC forecast issued at 7.02am Sat.Still implying the extreme SE under London to get worst through today into this eve and then more general snow across the region but NO mention of SW getting worse if anything into Sunday they said peak district and Wales possible 10-15cm extra. Guess we'll just have to wait and see,one moment talk of poss breakdown Tues onwards then weather advisories upto Wed for our areas with snow I think it's Saturday Lottery day!
  24. Just seen the main BBC weather and nothing different really, not much really being given away but basically it implies more South East+more snow later in weekend although further west snow as well but no mention of amounts, nothing further into next week, I believe they are not too sure due to the complexity of all of this, once again it's going to be a hit or miss affair with plenty of now casting and radar watching!
  25. That's because forecasts are not needed here it's obvious it will RAIN! lol
